Auroville Budokan

This morning House Warming of Auroville Budokan at Dehashakti Sports ground in Dana was a joyful event for all Aikido practitioners, and we share a short interview with Cristo and Surya, leading forces behind Auroville Aikido. Cristo practices for the past 35 years, Surya 20, and hundreds of students have passed through their classes.
Auroville Budokan – which literary means school of Martial arts, is an Aikido Dojo, and will be mainly consecrated to Aikido, was made entirely by grants of Indian Goverment through SAIIER by architects Mona, and Vinayagam as a building constructor. A beautiful, peaceful Budakan was costly – 85 lakhs, and is still in need of 8 lakhs for landscape and design of the garden to practice with weapons – katanas, but the dojo will last century and more.
Aikido itself means unity, harmony, where two aim to become one; it is an art of living, where one thorough the sense of beauty and hierarchy defines his posture and presence.
