CAT-11 On education in Auroville

“Auroville is a place of never ending education ” – The Mother.
The students of Auroville, really stepped it up for not only other residents of Auroville but also for students all across the world. Auroville is a special place where there is respect and concern for each individual life participating in the all important ‘collective’. This was clearly demonstrated by the overwhelming number of people who attended the latest ‘CAT’s’ meeting on “What is education in Auroville? And how should it be”.
The 4 girls Aloé, Amara, Leela, Tara conducted a survey of students in all different schools of Auroville and presented their result to the community members. The idea of the presentation was to spark a brain-storming session amongst the participants of the meeting and come up with solutions towards the challenges and opportunities that this survey had surfaced from the lives of the children studying in Auroville. It was the most magnificent sight to watch parents and teachers listening keenly to their children and ready to be guided by them into their mutual future, by offering whatever resources they possess. It was a breakthrough in human evolution when we are ready to shape and understand education from a point of view of only giving without any prejudice of how the society will eventually be effected by freedom and choices we are giving to the children.
Hip Hip Hurray!
