Last Friday, the 13th, they  organized a second Cafe Auroville Gathering at the Unity Pavilion. Discussions focused on seven topics: 1) Welcoming process, 2) Housing, 3) Food, 4) Transport, 5) Services, 6) Networking, and 7) Socializing. This second Gathering offered an opportunity for volunteers to discuss results obtained at the previous meeting. This time Aurovilians and volunteers were asked to choose their topics and to join a group for sharing experiences and knowledge. Read more

He is helping the other volunteers for long term commitments - like welcome and registration when arriving in Auroville, or introductory seminar to discover and understand Auroville. He is also very much enthusiastic, with some ideas how to extend the field of action of Auroville around the world and, why not, to create others communities like Auroville. Read more

Trishala (Photographer: Lua)Lively and vibrant young Trishala shares with us her enthusiasm over volunteer work with Integral Animal Care just behind Edayanchavadi, and before Red Earth Riding School. Since she got a break at school she have decided to spend this time something different, wanted to be useful. And since the whole family was visiting Auroville at the time of the cyclone Thane, Trishala was very much inspired by The Dream, and by so many different possibilities to learn, to grow, and to actively participate, to see different perspectives. In the conversation we find what triggered them to choose the Radio to contribute to the city. For Maria, an architect and artist, is the good place to connect all the ideas, all the facts, it is the right place to communicate to the entire world, and for the time being the only archive of most of the things that happen with accessibility to all. The Tempest

The Tempest (Photographer: miriam)That Shakespeare is far from being boring proved group of actors, mainly consisted from Aikiyam School Students, and lots of good will of volunteers all leaded by Hazel from Manchester. Short span of time they had to put play on the stage didn't stop them to do it the best they could. Dialogs were well learnt and spoken, costumes colorful and set simple but adequate to bring out the magic of the play and theater experience itself. On the premiere on Firday 2nd of December first audience were Aikiyam students enjoyed and laughed in it. Read more

Rebecca (Photographer: Miriam)With sparkling eyes and always present smile on her face Rebecca is one of very interesting long term guest we can see around for almost a year now. Her curiosity and a quest to finish her phd thesis on community and belonging brought her to Auroville. And since the method of research is ethnography in anthropology with participant observation she involved herself in few projects. In one she works for SAVI , interviewing units holders in order to design web page which will bring more useful informations to potential volunteers.

Musical Wall

Carma and Leonardo (Photographer: Miriam)A wall is not necessarily only a wall; from this idea came an inspiration to create a musical wall explains Manu, an architect and one of the caretakers at International House, in the International Zone. Carma and Leonardo arrived just in time, and with the right skills to implement this idea. Leonardo started to work on instruments right away in cooperation and technical support from Swaram, and after two months of extensive work, some instruments were ready to be use, and placed into or next to the wall. Discussion was on musical walls and other topics, with the sound of instruments played, all made from recycled materials. Read more

En este programa Alex nos cuenta en detalle todo lo que es necesario para hacer con que tu tiempo en Auroville sea lo mejor posible! Es un programa imperdible, una gran ayuda en como dar los primeros pasos a todos los que quieren conocer Auroville!
