A Heart Opened to the Divine
Tyler Carson, a volunteer at Village Action Group, has came to Auroville in the group of twelve as their part of intership of the study on integrative energy healing. Their study in Seattle is a three years program design to incorporate teachings from India(Vedic system), China(meridian system) and North American Native tradition in order for students to know how to use the universal energy in order to promote healing in the body. Tyler is working on sound healing by allowing his heart to be open to the Divine while making the music. Read more

Triathlon a Running Success!
The Auroville triathlon, held last Sunday Sept. 16th, was a resounding success for all involved. The athletes had a great run (and swim and ride!), and the volunteers and supporters all came out to have a good time. This year's organizer Ing-Marie even participated herself! Listen in for sporadic coverage of the 5-hour event condensed into 14 minutes! Hat Tournament
Sports ground at Certitude, the field next to and Udavi sports ground were very lively past weekend with Hat Tournament , which is ultimate frisbee tournament a different way with mixed team, as Mark explained it to us. Twelve teams consisted of seven players played for four games (long 1h15m) in the morning and two games in the afternoon on all three fields. Ultimate frisbee is more self sponsored sport with clear spirit of sportmanship; ultimate is different, one has to keep it cool, know the rules, has to call it fair and work in a team. Read more

Everything Is Yoga

Reason to Run
It started before dawn...and to see the sunrise, dew on tree leaves, feel the sand and grass under the feet, was a blessing...the high spirits of people who supported runners all the way, with taunts as well as with water and medical assistance, was gave them reason to do their best, run the best they could...morning cold was soon warmed up by sun, and the cheerful spirit of participants, slowly finishing the distance they had chosen to run. Ten Minutes With Anandi
Anandi is a raw food specialist who works at Kofpu, an organic food processing unit in Auroville. After studying at The Tree of Life Institute in Arizona she returned to India and realized that particular practices of awareness during food preparation transcend national boarders and have universal elements. Un mouvement guérisseur
Noguchi Haruchika était un guérisseur japonais qui a découvert le “katsugen undo”, un mouvement naturel du corps visant à s'auto-rééquilibrer et s'auto-guérir. Cette pratique obscure et connue de peu fut présentée par Ananda, samedi 11 septembre 2010, lors d'un conférence organisée par le Pavillon de France. La conférence aborda aussi les limites de la guérison par les mains et la classification, faite par Noguchi, des différents types de corps des êtres humains et leurs spécificités.

AA 3rd Birthday

Alcoholism is a progressive illness which can never be cured, and represents the combination of physical insensitivity to alcohol and a mental obsession with drinking which, regardless of consequences, cannot be broken by will power alone. The Surrender AA Group celebrated their third birthday on Sept.12th at Village Action Irumbai Road. AA groups all over the world help millions of people stay sober with the twelve step program which has proven to be not only an efficient tool, but also takes into consideration the spiritual part of the disease.

Connection with the heart
Watsu is a gentle, nurturing therapy practiced in warm, body temperature water, combining movements, stretches and cradling. Quiet will celebrate this year 10th anniversary of practicing Watsu, and in March they organized advanced workshop with founder of Watsu massage – Harold Dull. He created it in 80s, and the technique slowly evolved as he began to incorporate aspects of zen shiatsu into his therapy. As he mentioned, Watsu is first aquatic body work for everybody.

In Svedam at Well cafe on 7th of January was an initial presentation of a dream and a a manifestation of reality of aquatic body work center, which would be located in the hearth of Auroville, next to Arka community. Through over a decade of aquatic and other work in Quiet, latest came to the point where it's insufficient for all the demands and needs of clients and as well of the practitioners of aquatic healing therapies. The team of Aquatica already well expressed their commitment to their work and  to the project Auqatica because amongst themselves they've managed to collect already 30 percent of the total sum of 65lakhs which are needed for it..For more images click Read More.Read more

Spirit of the Game

In a world where athletics often spill over with conflict and aggression, a competitive sport whose foundation is joy and goodwill is a rare phenomena. Coren, captain of Auroville's Ultimate Frisbee team, explains the game, how it reached Auroville and why it is here to stay. The team recently came back from the Chennai Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in which they won the 'Spirit of the Game' award. The award is given to the group who keeps the game fun, joyous and full of goodwill. A game which develops these qualities makes this game 'at home' in Auroville.

Seven empty pages

When a Zen practitioner gynecologist and a Ken Wilber philosophy advocate merged in one man a new approach arises. Dr. Unmon Boss share with us his experience with wearing the three hats at the same time. Unmon lead the seven empty pages workshop he developed here in Auroville. The seven attitudes non-judging, patience, beginners mind, trust, acceptance, non striving and letting go are the framework and the ground for his workshops. This interview tries to shed some light on his approach to medicine, spiritual life and his relationship with Auroville.

Open Secrets of Music Therapy

On Saturday 2nd May, T. V. Sairam held an interactive lecture demonstration at the Tibetan Pavilion. He is a former administrator, economist, ethno-botanist and musicologist, who has authored several books and hundreds of articles on all these subjects. His pioneering work on the therapeutic aspects of the traditional Indian music system and nada yoga have attracted the attention of the world community of music therapists in recent years. Gioia e Yoga

Dal 2001 si dedica allo studio dell'Ashtanga Yoga  presso il Research Institute in Mysore in India. Ad Auroville, “l'unico posto al mondo in cui potrei vivere”, dice Monica, inizia ad insegnare questa pratica ai bambini nel 2003. Da allora gestisce una scuola di yoga ed un sito

Running for Auroville

A marathon of 42 kilometers in celebration of Auroville's 40th anniversary! Frederick, one of the organizers, explained that the  basis, the heart of the marathon is not about beating the others. It's an inner goal they race toward. The running course will pass through  significant sites that marked the life of Auroville past, present and future; the history of the city unfolds on the road.

Into your atmosphere...

Imagine 'Om Namo Bhagavate', Mother's mantra, penetrating your very being not as an audible sound, but as light. This is what Mario has created: a device which transmits the mantra as a blue light, via a transparent stone such as a crystal, into your atmosphere. Mario has a background in electronic engineering which he has combined with his intuitive mind and certainly the influence of the Mother. In an interview with Maggie, Somatics, the work of Thomas Hanna is brought to light. Maggie explores exactly what the work is: muscular and neurological, allowing the body itself to undergo changes thereby alleviating pain that comes from habitual holding patterns and postures. Maggie offers individual sessions as well as classes in Somatics. The classical guitar music woven throughout this interview is played by Ashaman.

Mita and Tomatis

An interview with Mita reveals the diverse facets of the Tomatis work which she and her partner have been trained in and brought to Auroville. The Tomatis Method can be utilised as a tool for the learning of languages and also therapeutically; it has the ability to release blockages which keep one from realizing their potential. Mita also talks about Dr. Tomatis' regard and interest in the writings of Sri Aurobindo.
