Minutes of General Meeting on Auroville Water Maintenance Service to clear out the dead point on the unit(or service???) closure, splitting assets...In the goodwill of all present resident, with the reminder of Residents Assembly Service before the beginning to keep it to the agenda which was (except little outburst of "washing the laundry") kept at most of the time, the meeting was steered in real process of work - collective yoga. Result is a suggestion that last existing team along with Marcus and Dirk find the proposal for the new AWMS.

Cesare Montresor presents a different way to access to goods and technology, getting the inspiration from the world community.
"Opensource Hardware", "Community FabLab" and the "Do It Yourself" philosophy are the main concepts to enable a high quality, local and flexible production while providing a public infrastructure for knowledge, creativity and continuous learning. By enabling aurovilians to produce their own goods, a community fablab would on the long run become a way to grow toward a more self-sufficient and sustainable community.

Concert in Svedam last Saturday evening - "The Sun Waves" presented by Hibiscus Art Village Project in Well Cafe. The first part was Concert of Trinity - Daniel, Caroline and Co, was an improvisation with vocals and several acoustic instruments .
The second part was "Tribal World Music" by Yemadas , a band that needs no introduction here in Auroville. Yemadas is a ethnic fusion band who plays their original songs inspired in Africa and Brazil traditional songs. Since Yemadas - Ana and Tiago are leaving, this was last performance.

The project of Lilaloka, 'the place to play' in Sanskrit, was founded thanks to the determination of five women with educational background. Neither school nor airy center or nursery, Lilaloka goes further, offering a new educational approach centered on the joy and the game. The future center will offer various activities for all children, promoting self-learning and avoiding the competition and judgment. A community interaction with the Governing Board happened on Saturday 6th of April at 6.00 pm in SAWCHU.
A good number of residents came to meet with Dr Karan Singh (chairman of the Auroville Fundation) and the members of the Governing Board. The discussion was open by a short introduction by the chairman Dr. Karan Singh. During the meeting the residents spoke about internal issues and policies to protect the development of Auroville.
Later on on most of the participants attended to the community dinner at Solar Kitchen.

Kees Van Boxtel is a world musician, composer and producer from Harlem, Amsterdam. He plays the saxaphone, silver flute and the Indian Bansuri. Kees also manages Birdtrack Studio in Harlem. In this he talks to Sharan about his lifelong musical adventures like riding the New wave and starting a band called Popoufka in the late 70s, experimenting with musical astrology and eventually evolving his own expression and style of unifying the different influences. Kees started a world music band called Shimayana in early 2008.

In today's news we are featuring Manu and Swapnil talking on the Cartoon Exhibition on Affordable Housing prepared by 14 concerned architects along with L'Avenir d"aAuroville which will be on display at Town Hall and Solar Kitchen until 12th. They are asking the community for feedback. We are also featuring an excerpt of interaction of Governing Board with the community past Saturday with Paulette and Dr. Karan Singh talking on UNESCO and AV as a World Heritage Site. Featured are minutes of yesterday's General Meeting at Unity Pavilion in International Zone which was very well attended. Proposed agenda was about Working Committee sharing agenda points fro the upcoming Governing Board, which they have received from the Secretary's office : 1. process for procedure for selection of WC. 2. suggestions on term&mandated for the WC. 3.process&procedure for constituting various working groups of the RA.4. suggestions on securing land for the Master Plan&manifesting the city. That agenda was impossible to keep.

Susmita, the producer of the documentary 'Sometimes I can fly' about accessibility, organized a talk with the teenagers of Future School and Alex, the Italian fellow in a wheel chair of the movie. After watching the documentary, the students seemed very interested by the topic and asked many questions, not only about how to make accessibility in Auroville but also about Alex's travels in India. They're very impressed by his courage. They even took pictures with him as a star, exchanged phone number and suggested to organize a dinner with him !

All was invited to participate in the Literary Festival of Kamba Ramayana on 31st March 2013 Sunday at Bharat Nivas, Auroville. A whole day full of lectures, discussions, music, dance and theater lead by great scholars and reputed personalities to address our students, staff and public from Auroville region. This event was organized by the Tamil Heritage Centre to celebrate the Kamba Literary Festival. Kamba lived almost 1000 years ago during the Chola dynasty from the centre part of Tamil Nadu and wrote Ramayana in Tamil.

The German peace program EachOneTeachOne in collaboration with AIAT and Mohanam Youth Project presented last night another night of exciting breakdance and rap for peace. The whole performance was explosive mixture of children from nearby villages who shared with us some dances, drumming, silambam, and graffiti on the back of the stage, created with Julio Rolle and Kajal Sing during the workshop at AIAT., and of course Bboys - Sun-Ha alias DJSolar/Sola Plexus, Danny and Reza alias K.O.TIXX, Nico alias NicoRoc Masterplancrew

On Wednesday, for the full moon, Vera, an Aurovillian women from Belarus, played traditional Russian bells at Repos' beach. Many people are listening to the concert, sitting next to her or on the beach, to enjoy even better this meditation in front of the moon. While the moon rose in the sky, with her magical colors, the sound of the bells was in perfect harmony with the waves of the Ocean. After the concert, the public shared a delicious Russian dinner with the soup called borch, salad, pancake and chocolate dessert in a friendly atmosphere.

Like every year, Upasana Design Studio celebrated Holi, the Colors Festival, on Wednesday 27th of March. In the North of India, it's New Year, but everywhere else it's also the beginning of summer. As soon as the guests arrived in Upasana, organizers and other participants threw on them colored powder. They even stopped motor bike on the road to make them join this joyful moment, full of harmless colors and laughter. People shared snack together, listened to music and danced in the garden. At the end of the afternoon, they even threw water !

Last Sunday was a sporty day for Aurovillians! The first Auroville Athletics Meet took place at Dehashakti Sports Complex, next to Dana. Around 50 people registered, mainly teenagers of the school and their sport teacher. From 8 in the morning, they practised 100 m race, 800 m race and long jump before a good breakfast. At 5 pm, a fun race was organized with the feet linked together. Despite of the lack of participants, Rajeev, one of the coordinator, was satisfied of the enthusiam of youngers. He hopes that more adults will join next time.

At Pitanga (Auroville) on Monday 25th of March 2013 students of Nandita Di Di performed their annual Indian Classical Vocal Concert. The warm ambiance, the beautiful flower arrangements and the quality of the chosen songs has made the hour of the performance worth to remember. Most of the composition comes from the classical Indian tradition but some were composed by Nandita Di Di. Singers were accompanied by Debhashis Das on tabla and the harmonium was played by the teacher herself. The audience appreciated very much the event.

Life Education Center (LEC), located in Kottakarai, it's a personal growth center for young Tamil women from the villages around. Created in 1991, it gives them the opportunity to learn English and many other skills like tailoring and be aware of their body and to feel worthy as a women. Last Saturday was the open day at LEC. Many girls were there, dressing their most beautiful sari, surrounded by their teachers. During this event, Zerina, Harini, Bhuvana Sundari, Krupa, Devi, Susmita and the mime Drupad explained their own experiences at LEC.

Seeing artists of all India creating in live is possible until the 27 of March. Inspired by the amazing surrounding of Sri Ma Guest House, ten artists are taking part of the National Painters' Camp, organized by Lalit Kala Akademi and the Auroville Foundation. They're coming from Delhi, Jaipur and Chennai and expect to meet you at the camp, preferably between 3 to 4 pm. Artists from Auroville, mainly writers and movie makers, were invited to the opening on Friday. Rm Palaniappan, regional secretary of Lalit Kala Akademi, inaugurated the event.

The New South Africa Jazz Collective's performance last night at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium, Bharat Nivas, Pavilion of Indian Culture in International Zone thoroughly thrilled all who who have decided to come. Although some of them young, but talented and very much skillful, the members of NSAJC shared with the community some solid jazz standards with its uniqueness of their country of origin - South Africa, and cultural soundscapes of lively rhythms, which have left almost no one remaining siting. ICCR and AV Foundation sponsored the concert.

One of the most wonderful events I have seen in Auroville. Come and enjoy the audio of the musical play Sorcery at Sea. There was actors of all ages that came together to preform this captivating story. Bharat Nivas was so packed there was not space for a mouse. People sitting on the floor and steps. Even on your way back home you could here the people sing the songs of the play. Can you you see it was heard all over Auroville afterwards. Great thanks to all the actors and people behind stage. As it is really turning into tradition, toward the end of the school year Anna Taj shares with the community her annual rock concert, which changes and modifies over the years. This year to surprise of all, and not announced was opening by Atma and Jangciup with Bob Marley's Redemption Song. ..followed by some classical rock, pop songs so known and dear to many.
