content (Arts & Culture) Prior to Prof Samdhong Rinpoche's arrival, interviews were sought with two Tibetan exchange students Namgyal and Tsened, and Jungchup from Auroville. They were waiting at the entrance of the Tibetan Pavillion to see the rare photos of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, and his documented asylum into India and a talk delivered by Rinpoche. Each one spoke very sweetly of their experiences living in Auroville. Firstly, Namgyal covered the topic of the Mahayana discipline of meditation and, how to be a 'better man' for Tibet.

Friday, 03 February 2012 (Arts & Culture) Aurodhan Gallery at Pondicherry will present on Friday 3th of February an interesting "Pondicherry" exhibition of selection of fine art photographic images exclusively selected from the book launched at the same time. Sebastian shared with us some insights on the process of making the book, which is collaboration of photographic artistic view of life heritage of Pondicherry with written word of Pascal Bruckner, Akash Kapur and Amin Jaffer, all experts on their fields of exploration. "Pondicherry" is published in French and English.

Monday, 23 January 2012 (Education) No doubt that talk on Lucy - mother of us all at the National Museum of Ethiopia , and the interaction on "Human Unity in Evolution" deeply impressed all the participants. Dr. Berhane Asfaw, leading Ethiopian Paleontologist presented Ethiopian archeological finds related to the evolution of the hominid to man, and after seeing Lucy in the next door we were following with huge respect and anticipation. Deepti followed by presentation of the view of Evolutions as seen by Sri Aurobindo, and both talks and interaction were presented by Haimanot.

Monday, 24 October 2011 (Education) At Ilaignarkal Education Centre a traditional Navaratrhi Doll Show was prepared to mark the celebration of Evolution. In one of the rooms of the centre are displayed many amazing figurines and dolls from the rich spiritual Indian tradition. There are various and many practices depending on the part of India, including pujas, paryers, special food items to honour the Celebration of Evolution. Janaki guided us through, explaining different meanings and manners of the gods and godesses. Meenakshi did her usual annual special offering.

NAGA-MANDALA adapted from the play by Girish Karnad will be performed at CRIPA in Kalabhumi on August 13th 14th 2011 at 5pm. We feature short interview with Jill, the director of it. Sri Aurobindo's Dasrhan tokens can be collected at Pitanga on 11th, 12th, 13th between 9 - 12 and 2 - 6 pm.

The number of locations where it will be happening, the installations, exhibitions: a group of video artists from Berlin gifted to Film Festival '11 fancy installations, which most likely will be on display at La Terrace at Solar Kitchen and at Town Hall. We can expect two exhibitions; one at Kala Kendra, the joint work of Marie Claire, Anna, Chloe and Christoph, their collaborative work of dance, sculpture, sound and video... in Bharat Nivas, artwork of students on Human Unity.

We took this opportunity to produce a sound in order toawaken people's awareness of noise pollution. The manner in which people began to listen was quite imaginative. With the participation of Newcomer Marc, organiser of the exhibition and a designer, we imagined a box where everybody could enter, listen to the sound and be totally cut off from outside, in order to be fully focused on sounds. The numerous talented designers attended a workshop one week before, where they got input, material and ideas how to create fashion out of trash. The result was simply outstanding: They transformed vinyl records, juice boxes, cassette tapes, bubblewrap, rice sacks, used fashion magazines and plastic bags into creations just designed for the catwalk. It shall be located in the Cultural Zone, in the Kalabhoomi community. Now the first step has been done: the construction work for the rehearsal hall for dance, music and theatre it's close to be completed. It will be the biggest rehearsal space in Auroville with a large wooden floor of 12 by 40 meters. All the paintings were created on the soil of Auroville in last few years. Beside painting Dalaj is talented musician, and well known in Slovenia. His paintings express rich inner search on the playful way, with bright colors and some characters from comic books and cartoons, yet his intimate contact with the divine is very profound. Because he was not able to be present at the opening, he will be in Auroville at the time of the exhibition closing. The event started with a short performance by the Mohanam Sound crew. Thoorigai is the title of the artist's opus which is symbolically focused on his own world and life. Thoorigai translates roughly In English as 'Journey Toward Colorful Soil'. Anbazhagan's work is mostly oil on canvas; the rich textures of India can be clearly seen from the soil to the tools and ornaments of daily life, from people in their normal activities, to vast symbolism. From the first meeting in September things started to move for Asian community, and many plans are in the progress. On 17,5 acers of land in Iternational zone proposed for Asia, idea came up to sart to build at least small Tea pavillion with which they could establish Asian zone, and could been used as a place for meeting, for meditation and tea ceremonies. Claude, who is the driving force behind it, realized after the talk with his Holiness the Dalai Lama, that this is something he got to do, and he had to do it in a unique way. On 25 panels starting with ancient history of Tibet, which is to most of us unknown, are glimpses of Tibetan history through several millenniums. All the panels are enveloped somehow with two thangka paintings which his Holiness the Dalai Lama presented signed by him for this exhibition. Synergy Shakti is the name of the art which resulted from these women unfolding their creative processes together in the same space in the period of a few days.
