Je marche, tu marches, il marche, nous marchons vers le Town Hall, vers le centre d'Auroville où se déroule en ce moment une exposition sur l'évolution des plans de la Galaxie et du travail de Roger Anger. Dans ces nouvelles en français aussi une invitation à venir vendredi 19 mars au Visitor Center pour une soirée « Cabaret » afin de collecter des fonds pour « Auroville Performing Arts ». Cette association a pour but d'aider, de coordonner et de produire des spectacles et des artistes auroviliens dans le domaine du théâtre, de la musique et de la danse.

During the LFA (litter-free Auroville) campaign, AurovilleRadio was invited to participate in the exhibition room called stArt of Certitude's dome. We took this opportunity to produce a sound in order toawaken people's awareness of noise pollution. The manner in which people began to listen was quite imaginative. With the participation of Newcomer Marc, organiser of the exhibition and a designer, we imagined a box where everybody could enter, listen to the sound and be totally cut off from outside, in  order to be fully focused on sounds. The result: a strange sort of soundproof cardboard box called “Sound Space”, a mysterious and darkened sound experience with a long waiting line attended mostly by kids..Read more

On 29 January was the Litter Free Auroville Campaign a very bold and passionate venture to make a less polluted and and more environment aware Auroville. On this day more than one thousand school children and adults collected litter from the roads of Auroville brought them all to Certitude for further processing. Along with this were so many activities for making people aware of the better world on the other side of all the pollution and many more fun activities. In a conversation with Anita and Mirra two of the many active facilitators they shared their views about the campaign, and many ideas to make a cleaner Earth.

One of the highlights from last Friday´s Litter Free Auroville was the amazing Trashionshow. The numerous talented designers attended a workshop one week before, where they got input, material and ideas how to create fashion out of trash. The result was simply outstanding: They transformed vinyl records, juice boxes, cassette tapes, bubblewrap, rice sacks, used fashion magazines and plastic bags into creations just designed for the catwalk. Cette semaine à Auroville le temps est ensoleillé, quelques nuages à prévoir pour dimanche, température entre 25 et 30 degrés. Aujourd'hui nous sommes à Certitude puisque est en train de se préparer l'évènement de cette semaine j'ai nommée: la campagne LFA (Litter Free Auroville) pour la sensibilisation de la population sur le problème des déchets. Cette initiative est organisée par Soma Waste Management, (une organisation qui s’occupe du traitement des déchets à Auroville) en collaboration avec Eco Service et de nombreux bénévoles. On Saturday 19th of December in Aurelec was unique inauguration of twelve pictures printed on marble of versatile artisan Miranda Rumina. Prints on marble are rather new technique, and it seems to be perfect for this climate for its characteristics. Trough over the slide show of her pictures of glass objects, we had a chance to hear music of Bostjan Perovsek with special connectedness with the nature. Afterward Miranda  shared with audience some intimate English written poetry. The Center for Research in the Performing Arts (CRIPA) was planning to build a whole campus complex for performing arts since 2007. It shall be located in the Cultural Zone, in the Kalabhoomi community. Now the first step has been done: the construction work for the rehearsal hall for dance, music and theatre it's close to be completed. It will be the biggest rehearsal space in Auroville with a large wooden floor of 12 by 40 meters. Here's an interview with the architect Baskar made on the contruction site.Read more.

Exhibition of Dalaj's paintings was inaugurated in Tibetan Pavilion On Saturday, 5th of December with his friends speech and artist own virtual greetings to the visitors. All the paintings were created on the soil of Auroville in last few years. Beside painting Dalaj is talented musician, and well known in Slovenia. His paintings express rich inner search on the playful way, with bright colors and some characters from comic books and cartoons, yet his intimate contact with the divine is very profound. Because he was not able to be present at the opening, he will be in Auroville at the time of the exhibition closing. Amongst the visitors we collected some of their impressions of Dalaj's work.

On Saturday the 14 November at the Gallery Square Circle in Kala Kendra ,an exhibition of Tamil artist Anbazhagan was inaugurated. The event started with a short performance by the Mohanam Sound crew. Thoorigai is the title of the artist's opus which is symbolically focused on his own world and life. Thoorigai translates roughly In English as 'Journey Toward Colorful Soil'. Anbazhagan's work is mostly oil on canvas; the rich textures of India can be clearly seen  from the soil to the tools and ornaments of daily life, from people in their normal activities, to vast symbolism. Second meeting of Asian Unity was held at Pitanga, and as East Asian traditions are, it started with excellent tea, and quiet conversation of arriving guests. From the first meeting in September things started to move for Asian community, and many plans are in the progress. On 17,5 acers of land in Iternational zone proposed for Asia, idea came up to sart to build at least small Tea pavillion with which they could establish Asian zone, and could been used as a place for meeting, for meditation and tea ceremonies. In Asian culture tea ceremony is important part of the culture, it's related to art in general; important part of it is spritual passage without religious projections..

A very special exhibition was inaugurated in Tibetan Pavilion on sunday by three young Aurovillians. Claude, who is the driving force behind it, realized after the talk with his Holiness the Dalai Lama, that this is something he got to do, and he had to do it in a unique way. On 25 panels starting with ancient history of Tibet, which is to most of us unknown, are glimpses of Tibetan history through several millenniums. All the panels are enveloped somehow with two thangka paintings which his Holiness the Dalai Lama presented signed by him for this exhibition. Marc, designer parisien de la goutte d'or est venu s'installer à Auroville  avec sa famille il y a presque un an. Comme il le dit, il fait parti « de ses volontaires prêt à donner pour recevoir ». C'est avec cet esprit qu'il s'est lancé dans un nouveau projet de création d'objet avec quatre autres aurovilliens. Kerubin Artists presented their Retrospective with an impressive audience at the ILC hall Thursday night. There was candlelight leading to the playground of Trans-Slovenian creativity including glass, bronze and ice installations, video, music, paintings and multi-media mix-ups. The intimate presentation of the work by the artists themselves was projected for all to see and lasted for several hours into the night.Read more

Valentines Day in Auroville was packed with events and the gallery at the Tibetan Pavilion was not exempt to this on Saturday. Lourdes Malpica, Ka-ti Deslandes, Christian Fette, Hufreesh Dumasia and Audrey Wallace Taylor have been communally creative during a one week period of the Women Artists Camp initiative. Synergy Shakti is the name of the art which resulted from these women unfolding their creative processes together in the same space in the period of a few days. The drive behind the camp was the thirst of these contemporary female artists to empower and inspire each other in one nurturing space.
