Monday, 26 December 2011 (Arts & Culture) The word is a sound expressive of the idea. In the supra-physical plane when an idea has to be realised, one can by repeating the word-expression of it, produce vibrations which prepare the mind for the realisation of the idea. That is the principle of the Mantra and of japa. One repeats the name of the Divine and the vibrations created in the consciousness prepare the realisation of the Divine. It is the same idea that is expressed in the Bible, God said, Let there be Light, and there was Light. It is creation by the Word. - [Sri Aurobindo]

And TDC should be there just to assist the project with the use of the footprint of the galaxy loosely while looking at the ground reality, and that way keep the dynamism of the galaxy without being to attached to the map. Water Task Team will be soon ready to present plans.
Thursday, 22 September 2011 (Arts & Culture) Auroville is a universal playground that offers us richness of sounds as well as human diversity. And we were playing. In the Creative Radio workshop, we were playing with sounds - listening to the morning sounds of waking nature, bees buzzing, sounds of children playing with grains of sand, passing through sports grounds listening to the boisterous cries of kids engrossed in their games. We ended our sound journey with the flowing water at lotus pond at Matrimandir. Around thirty persons gathered all around the Amphitheater at Matrimandir to enjoy Sri Aurobindo's initiatory poem expressed by the Mother during this privileged moment.

Friday, 22 April 2011 (Environment) "The Divine plan is always there, all we have to do is open up, and take a next step...keep going..." told us B in an interview about his life, passion for waste management and other projects he's involved in. He came to Auroville in 1974, in its early beginning when town was is the survival mode; saw all the changes and transitions, and yet he feels extremely grateful that he was born at the right time to go trough this incredible adventure, as he named it. B is strongly convinced that Zero Waste Management is and achievable goal, because is something that people can understand. Up to today we managed to come to the point that we recycle 60 percents of the garbage, the rest 40 percents can be slowly chipped away by technology which is already available today.
Friday, 15 April 2011 (Arts & Culture) It was over-packed at the Visitors' Center on Saturday evening, in anticipation of a new production of 'Genius Incorporated Presents' causing laughs way before the show began. As previously announced, the 'Doppelganger' is a scientific fiction of future possibilities, with the advent of dual consciousness; each of us might have expected various options for the play we were all anxious to see. The Genius team didn't let the public down – this humorous piece was insightfully critical as usual, with some new approaches and excellent video clips. And of course, with an original story of three beings (which highly resembled three known friends in Auroville) coming for a visit, and a possible encounter with a new conscious human being, a superhuman. Tuesday, 12 April 2011 (News) Featured in the news a remembrance of 40 years ago today, when Mother sent a special message to those early Aurovilians who would begin the initial digging for what would become the foundation of Matrimandir: 'The fraternity of collaboration; the aspiration towards Unity in Joy and Light. Blessings.' Also in the news some announcements: a call for volunteers to do farm work and building at Windarra Farm in exchange for accommodation; another call goes out for a high level English teacher for Future School and, a chance to use writing skills in Sadhana Forest's 'This I Believe' essay series. And finally a reminder to reserve an evening next weekend to hear the Auroville Choir sing a concert of Celtic songs.

Thursday, 09 December 2010 (City Life) The most interesting to Mr. Shimelis Adugna is the Auroville approach and active way on how to make this planet a better place to live in for all of us, as he emphasized – to go back to truth,to our inner strength, and to work on these to work together. He sees hope as a moving agent to create reality from the dreams and vision as the Mother envisioned. To him, and so many of us, this world has to be the world of sharing. Auroville could do better when it comes to the awareness of the Mother's vision in Africa, by going there and sharing these dreams.

Very witty observations pointing out our foibles, greatly humorous verse of this latest play by Johnny, Jessie, Jana and Muktha, 'The Little Bang' brought wide smiles and laughter from those of every age in the audience, while little ones were enthusiastic about the event itself. And of course the acting of brilliant big little actors who took their job very seriously who all contributed to this creation in barely two weeks time. All began with A Little Bang, which lead to a complete transformation of the population (mostly carpenters and architects) living in the small town of Fevicol.

We had a chance to met Dr. Bijan Vala, who told us that fate has brought him here, and he would like to get involved and be active mostly on the field of expressive arts such as music and theater. He sees Auroville as an example of good thoughts, which proved that dreams can turn into reality, and yet he's aware that in the process problems do arise. He likes the Love, The Dream, Matrimandir,... For him the beauty of Matrimandir is that there's nothing religious about it, everybody is left to his/her own thoughts.
