Open Platform on MM, Entry
Open Platform was held yesterday at the Unity pavilion in International Zone. It started by a report of the Entry Task force and their proposals to base this process on faith and trust , with one or several mentors for each newcomer at the centre part of it. Their project is yet to be fully concluded. The participants spoke also of the housing task force and asked for more volunteers to enroll. Then came the time of the participating debate about the Matrimandir, and the way to find a new team of executives. Read more

GM on MM executive Selection #2
Follow up on Matrimandir Executive Selection yesterday at Unity Pavilion in International Zone again hasn't brought clear solutions or resolvement. Many different proposal and suggestions were given on the table but none convincing enough to pass as a common consensus to call a Residents Assembly on it. And if the Matrimandir should represent the soul of Auroville, there should be peace and harmony amongst those who are offering service to care and develop Matrimandir with its surroundings. 50th anniversary of Auroville is approaching fast. AIR 1968 Auroville Inauguration
Listen to an inspiring piece of broadcasting history as Mother announces the inauguration of Auroville live across India on 28 February 1968. The recording was made with Mother sitting in Pondicherry while 5000 founding members of Auroville conducted the inauguration ceremony nearby at the Matrimandir Amphitheater. Thanks to All India Radio, her reading of the original Charter of Auroville in French was broadcast live to the amphitheater, as well as across India, while soil representing 124 nations and 23 Indian states was placed in the ground. Piano, Love and Moon at MM

As he has promised last year, Marc Vella returned with his traveling piano, accompanied by members of the Caravan of Love. The evening after full moon was chosen for his piano meditation at Amphitheater in Matrimandir. Dedication of members of Matrimandir Team and volunteers with the joyfully atmosphere of working together have created beautiful set up for the piano just next to the urn. Piano itself was brought from the lawn to the spot by many helpful hands. And piano meditation has started at fading away evening to a moon rise with Love Read more

Happy  Birthday Mother!
We're featuring the Mother's voice reading the Charter in in French, broadcasted on 28th of February 1968, announcing to a whole India that new community was born. At that occasion the Mother was sitting in her room in Ashram, and the All India Radio broadcasted her words to the Matrimandir Amphitheater where the inauguration ceremony was in the process. In this presentation Martine gives an overview of world heritage sites and how they got their status. Which criterion Auroville fits to and the process to get recognition. If the Auroville would get the World Heritage site status from UNESCO that would bring world wide recognition from 190 countries. Krishna Tewari`s 90th Birthday
How often do you get to attend a 90th birthday celebration? Come on in and enter the Tibetan Pavilion with Auroville Radio, capturing the ambiance and the essence of the event. A beautiful affair to honor Krishna's life, the celebration was held Tuesday evening, from 5:30-6:30. Attendees included the elders of Auroville, friends and family of Krishna, people from the Ashram and other Aurovilians. People lined up around the pavilion to give personal regards to Krishna one by one. There was a seated meditation and beautiful invocation by Joy. Read more

All India Bandh, Eclipses

Matrimandir team informs us that due to the announced All India Bandh Matrimandir will be open for meditation for Aurovillians and newcomers only from 6am to 8.30am and 4.30pm to 8pm. We are requested to bring our friends and family members on any other day. A Transit of Venus, preceded by a Lunar eclipse, is one of the rarest sights in astronomy which occur 8 years apart, each pair separated from the next by over a century, and the next pair will occur in 2117 and 2125.
