Presentation of Inuksuk

Auroville radio was there last Sunday, to capture the peaceful moment around the Inuksuk (stone figures created by the first inhabitants of the Canadian north, the Inuit). It was built in the International zone by AVI Canada, along with Aurovilians born in Canada. A presentation of the monument and a meditation was followed by a round table to share experiences. Aurovilians, volunteers, newcomers and guests all took part, creating links between people of good will who would never have met all together otherwise, so: many thanks to Canada for such a great action for unity! Trovadores, Aurelio & Nadaprem

Last Friday, there was a peaceful multicultural art sharing with Anandi at Unity Pavilion. Poems were told through sounds and movements with music, and mime artists and lovers told stories in various ways. Joska took us on a trip back to medieval times, generously sharing, with his guitalele, his love of the era. Drupad joined to tell a poem through mime and poetry lovers read poetry in Tamil, Spanish, and English. We hope to see you all, as we meet again on Saturday March 1st! Read more

The Universal Mother
Sri Aurobidno tells us that Mother's prayers in Her book "Prayers and Meditations" are mostly written in an identification with the earth-consciousness. The Mother in the lower nature addresses the Mother in the higher nature, the Mother herself carrying on the sadhana of the earth-consciousness for the transformation. These prayers are written in 1914. Half of century later, in Her Agenda, Mother tells of enfolding the earth and seeing a changed earth with a glorious inner light. Later She explains that Her body was built for the purpose.. Read more

Invitation by Sri Aurobindo
Invitation With wind and the weather beating round me Up to the hill and the moorland I go. Who will come with me? Who will climb with me? Wade through the brook and tramp through the snow? Not in the petty circle of cities Cramped by your doors and your walls I dwell; Over me God is blue in the welkin, Against me the wind and the storm rebel. I sport with solitude here in my regions, Of misadventure have me a friend. Who would live largely? Who would live freely? Here to the wind-swept uplands ascend. I am the lord of tempest and mountain, I am the Spirit Read more

Source of Silence
Nicole Christine is from Munich, Germany. She organizes and leads silent meditation retreats in India and abroad. In this interview Nicole delves into the source of silence within our own selves. She introspects on the transformative and pathfinding personal experiences that led her to look for truth and meaning beyond mind and matter. For her it is important to look at silence as a living "presence" as opposed to perceiving silence as an "absence". Therefore, the need to integrate the practice of being restfully and quietly aware here-now. Read more
