Artranslation

These days, the Square Circle Gallery, Kala Kendra in Bharat Nivas (Pavilion of Indian Culture, International Zone) hosts a group of artist from Reunion Island. The ArTranslation collective is a group consisting of four members who all practice different art forms. You can meet the artists on December 12th, at 3pm, in the Gallery Square Circle, Kala Kendra, and talk to them. In this interview, the ArTranslation collective members each, individually, talk to us about themselves and their art. The last day of the exhibition will be December 14th.

ArTranslation in Kala Kendra

Christiane and Valerie from the collective ArTranslation talk to us about the project they are undertaking, in Auroville, this month. Aurellll and Cedric complete this collective of artists from the island Reunion, a small French island near Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Exhibiting in Gallery Square Circle in Kala Kendra, Bharat Nivas, on December 4th to 14th, the opening is on the 4th at 4.30 pm. Personal works will be exhibited whilst the collective is also working outside on a structure made of gathered wood and stones. Read more

A collective Priorities and Values Meeting no.3 is going on this afternoon at 4.30pm at Unity Pavilion in International Zone. This one will include presentation from LRD on Outlying Lands. On Friday 10th of August and Sri Aurobindo Ashram Exhibiton Hall in Pondicherry they will open a nine days long Photo Exhibition. Girogio is amongst the artist and in the connects of the exhibition will be displayed a selection of 23 chronotypes realized last year with the participation of Aurovilians during the workshop – Our Many Selves. Earth Day  Celebrations
A slide show of sacred Ladakh shares a pilgrimage into the coreof the Buddhist Spirit. Bring your special dish and your recipe to the market "food contest table" before noon, made from local produce. Cyclone Inversions by Gotz Rogge
On Tuesday 27th at Savitri Bhavan opened the exhibition Cyclone Inversions by Gotz Rogge an artist and an experimental photographer from Berlin, Germany. He organized a workshop with Sasi Somu, the teacher of photography and art at the Future School. It involved some students to make large scale Camera Obscura photographic artifacts about the landscape generated by the cyclone. Interviews at Rinpoche`s talk
Prior to Prof Samdhong Rinpoche's arrival, interviews were sought with two Tibetan exchange students Namgyal and Tsened, and Jungchup from Auroville. They were waiting at the entrance of the Tibetan Pavillion to see the rare photos of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, and his documented asylum into India and a talk delivered by Rinpoche. Each one spoke very sweetly of their experiences living in Auroville. Firstly, Namgyal covered the topic of the Mahayana discipline of meditation and, how to be a 'better man' for Tibet. Read more

Aurodhan Gallery at Pondicherry will present on Friday 3th of February an interesting "Pondicherry" exhibition of selection of fine art photographic images exclusively selected from the book launched at the same time. Sebastian shared with us some insights on the process of making the book, which is collaboration of photographic artistic view of life heritage of Pondicherry with written word of Pascal Bruckner, Akash Kapur and Amin Jaffer, all experts on their fields of exploration.
