Friday, 29 April 2011 (Spirituality) The Full Moon was celebrated on Monday April 18th at the feet of Sri Aurobindo's status. Around ten persons gathered in Savitri Bahvan at 8pm for this enlightening event. Celebration started with a slow motion music to give everyone some time to be physically and spiritually present to the moment. Recorded talks from the Mother then opened the evening both in English and in French. Each participants were then invited to read a paragraph of the Savitri book (page 116 to 128) while the moon started its appearance right in the back of Sri Aurobindo's Status. Two commemorative compositions by Sunil were finally played to accompany the complete raise of the Full Moon in a very quiet, deep and meaningful moment.

Wednesday, 02 February 2011 (Arts & Culture) And there was a sound...from far. Maybe heard by someone or something. How many messages do we send out every second? Maybe heard by someone or something. Responds or messages, communication in vain? And yet, we want it or not, we plan it or not, Divine does play its own role, the way it can, in given circumstances. And how often do we thank for the grace and blessings showered on us? Bounties of life are given to us over and over, on this small dot, called Earth in endless Universe.

This sound is just to express my fully and deep gratitude towards my Auroville's friends et ce quelque chose de si particulier ici à Auroville que j'aime tant. One may recognize the 15th august dawn fire, the famous Dalai Lama's question, the Matrimandir inner chamber silence, monsoon and more. Just listen and experience how beautiful sounds Auroville.

For the World Listening Day Svaram invited us for a sound walk through Auroville soundscape. Sunday, 16 May 2010 (Arts & Culture) It was last Friday, around 9 pm. at la Terrace. Many people, mainly guest from Auroville and few Aurovilians were there. Also those two guys. Two guys from Netherlands who came only for two weeks, they are part of the famous “Kyteman Hip Hop Orchestra”. They invite us to an unexpected jam where everybody could participate through singing and drumming. But suddenly everything stop! Why?? This is a good question, hear this sound and perhaps you will understand.
Saturday, 01 May 2010 (Arts & Culture) We walked along together for a while. We went to some places through Tamil Nadu meeting Indian people and culture. We asked them to sing a little song just like that. Discover India through their voices: at a local market, then harvesting in a rice field, or at Pour Tous Auroville supermarket, inside a church for Easter and finally walking among mountains in Kodaikanal.

We took this opportunity to produce a sound in order toawaken people's awareness of noise pollution. The manner in which people began to listen was quite imaginative. With the participation of Newcomer Marc, organiser of the exhibition and a designer, we imagined a box where everybody could enter, listen to the sound and be totally cut off from outside, in order to be fully focused on sounds. The result: a strange sort of soundproof cardboard box called “Sound Space”, a mysterious and darkened sound experience with a long waiting line attended mostly by kids..Read more mp3/2010_01_29_interview_lfa_noise_pollution_chloe_english_ed.mp3&totalTime=4:45 Monday, 15 February 2010 (Education) Se un giorno foste invitati dagli insegnanti dell'asilo di vostro figlio a visitare la scuola, cosa vi aspettereste di udire? In quale ambiente sonoro vi trovereste immersi? Quali idiomi ascotereste? One of the many stories about how this temple came to be; once there was a Maharishi who meditated for many years and suddenly the land became dry, many animals died. The village people wondered what had happened. They discovered that through the Maharishi's meditation, drought had come to the land. While working on the composition, however, I was confronted with the tragic news of the recent demise of Syd Barrett, the initial founder of Pink Floyd. He can be regarded as one of the groundbreaking pioneers of surrealistic modern music despite his early leave from Pink Floyd in the late '60s. The kind of music he initiated, together with Pink Floyd's visual experiments during their early performances, have been putting their stamp on many bands and music groups to follow ever since. Therefore I would like to dedicate this piece in memory of him." - Jaap mp3/2006_08_04_hommage_sur_le_tombeau_de_sid_barret.mp3 Saturday, 05 August 2006 (Arts & Culture) "This CD is a short exposition of 9 'easy' pieces written for piano only. Its underlying thematical structure is made with references to the poem 'Prometheus' by Johan Wolfgang Goethe. In this poem Goethe gives his own ideas about the myth of Prometheus. It would be to difficult to explain this poetry but something of it is hopefully captured in the composition of these short pieces for piano only." - Padro mp3/2006_07_31_music_prometeus.mp3 Tuesday, 01 August 2006 | |
