RAS reminds us that It is time to select a new L’avenir / Town Development Council team. They are asking all of us to read the draft and take this opportunity to give our constructive feedback. We have two weeks (till 31st May 2012) to submit feedback by email to raservice@auroville.org.in with a copy to studygroup@auroville.org.in. Mr. Doshi is coming to visit Auroville from 28th to 30th of May, and he expressed his desire to meet the community of Auroville at large in order to discuss how to proceed with the planning work in Auroville. Kalari-Fest by Udayan`s Masters

Kalarippayat, Mohiniyattam and Theyyam were performed by the Udayan's Masters at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium. Kalarippayat is a great and ancient physical, cultural and martial art of Kerala, which was in prevalence from time immemorial. It is primarily an art of physical culture, well developed in a most scientific way. It aims at giving a practitioner of the art, perfect control over his body balance, flexibility, stamina and speed, and perfect neuro-muscular co-ordination, an ability of the body to react instinctively to the senses. ”Barefoot” Ted`s speech
February 11th 2012: Ted MacDonald, the athlete experimenting with running on bare feet gave an inspiring speech for the marathon runners. There was that much interest in his talk that the speech had to be given in the open air, on the Visitors Centre's square. Ted spoke of his view on running with or without shoes and his journey to find the ultimate running experience, and encouraged people to keep running and keep searching for their own perfect way of doing so. Running with a smile
The Auroville Marathon (marathon.auroville.com) is held in February each year and this year is the fifth anniversary of the event. This program contains interviews with Chandresh and Balaji, two organizers who make the Marathon possible. While Chandresh talks about how he first had the idea of having a Marathon for Auroville, Balaji goes through the challenges involved in organizing an event that has over two thousand participants from all over the world. Hat Tournament
Sports ground at Certitude, the field next to and Udavi sports ground were very lively past weekend with Hat Tournament , which is ultimate frisbee tournament a different way with mixed team, as Mark explained it to us. Twelve teams consisted of seven players played for four games (long 1h15m) in the morning and two games in the afternoon on all three fields. Ultimate frisbee is more self sponsored sport with clear spirit of sportmanship; ultimate is different, one has to keep it cool, know the rules, has to call it fair and work in a team. Read more

We feature interview with Gunasekaran, member of the new Auroville Council talking on housing issues. On Sunday at 5pm The Centre for Research in the Performing Arts (CRIPA) invites us all to an Opening Concert by the Auroville Choir, At Cripa Hall in Kalabhumi . Wood and Hat Tournament
On February 4th and 5th at Certitude and Udavi sports ground we can witness Auroville Hat Tournament 2012 India Ultimate's. Two hundred players from all over will come and test their fitness and improve their skills with an 'Auroville' spirit . The Auroville Hat is the only 'hat' tournament in India, and reflects its spirit of Unity in Diversity. We feature interview with Kumaran about it. Baraka - Grace
Sunny Sunday afternoon at Fertile Windmill, children and horses. To raise necessary funds for the horses and ponies to be fed under the roof at Baraka. Children of all ages together with Mahi and parents prepared a fundraising event and open house. We had a chance to see different skills of children on horses and their deep bonding with these lovable beings. Children prepared T-shirts with Baraka logo and some refreshments to sell. Resident Assembly Service informs us that The silver RAS boxes will be waiting to receive our Candidate Proposal Forms until Monday 5th September at the Solar Kitchen, Town Hall, PTDC and Pour Tous Aspiration. Saturday shouldn't be boring at all because Africa House in International Zone prepared whole day in African spirit. They will start at 3pm with drumming circle and blessings on African Land in International Zone, behind Secretary house. At 5pm at Certitude sports ground will be lively since there will be two friendly matches between Auroville and African students in football and basketball. They sincerely hope - both teams, that you will come to cheer them up. Sufi and Football
If last week passed in Earth Day-Week spirit, this one will be mostly in Sufi since the visiting guest Sufi musician Latif Bolat prepared many lectures, which are all followed by concerts. Latif is a very serious and advanced Sufi scholar. And on Saturday at 8pm he and Parvathy Baul will give a concert at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium Bharat Nivas, Pavilion of Indian Culture with tittle "Songs from the heart beyond borders." Reason to Run
It started before dawn...and to see the sunrise, dew on tree leaves, feel the sand and grass under the feet, was a blessing...the high spirits of people who supported runners all the way, with taunts as well as with water and medical assistance, was contagious...it gave them reason to do their best, run the best they could...morning cold was soon warmed up by sun, and the cheerful spirit of participants, slowly finishing the distance they had chosen to run. Cheering Up

Run, Run, RUN!
The news today features the art and science of the run as experienced by Aurovilian Paul Blanchflower. The Fourth Auroville Marathon took place yesterday. By now this annual event is anticipated amidst recreational runners in India as well as abroad, as seen by the increasing number of runners; almost 1,400 runners of various ages participated in several differemt categories. Also the news announces today's opening at Savitri Bhavan of the Supramental Transformation, an exhibition of Mother's work of supramental transformation. Sri Aurobindo's writings, both poetry and prose, and Mother's reports on Her experiences bring an explanation of the tremendous changes that we see today, and which Sri Aurobindo called the supramental descent.
