Elvira shortly presented history, and how the number of residents invoked the need for more formal governance in the form of a delegate system in order to interact with outer world and Indian Government. Changing process of governance is a slow one because in basically a process of changing ourselves.

It began as a farmers festival, but has become a national festival. Bhogi: discarding old things; homes cleaned and decorated. Rice with fresh milk is boiled to overflowing, offered to the Sun God in gratitude for the harvest. Maattu honors cows: they are washed, horns painted brightly, flowers round their necks. Monday, 21 November 2011 (Education) During the Auroville International meeting in Addis Abbaba at the Red Cross Society Training Institute Deepti presented "An Auroville Perspective" on the topic of education and Lourdes Nadine talked about "Activity Based Learning for Primary Education in India". Both talks were very much interesting for numerous local audience, and practical questions on methods arose after the presentations. Integral education, based on Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's principals, and Activity Based Learning trough cards over years proved their effeciency.

Wednesday, 12 October 2011 (Arts & Culture) Auroville's second Film Festival, the brainchild of Marco of Cinema Paradiso, had its grand opening yesterday to a a packed audience of Aurovilians adult and children plus guests from abroad. There was a contagious spirit in the very air, spreading through one and all; smiles and laughter midst music created the sense of a real festival. Wednesday, 07 September 2011 (Spirituality) On Saturday, 14th August, a memorial gathering was held in Savitri Bhavan dedicated to Syam Sundar who recently passed away. Shyam Sundar was appointed by the Mother as the secretary of Auroville affairs and was involved in the township project from the very beginning. About thirty Aurovilians and fifteen Ashramites gathered in Savitri Bhavan to pay tribute to Shyam Sundar. After a short meditation, several friends spontaneously shared their reminiscences of Shyamsunder, who had taken significant roles in his lifetime.
