Shyama`s Interview Part 2

On December 5th, Francois and Rakhal projected the 2nd part of Shyama's (Certitude) interview. This is an extremely moving movie as Shyama recounts the very beginnings of Auroville, her unique relationship with the Mother, the death of the first Auroson and the birth of the second one, as well as her insights into Auroville today. Shyama had seven children and her life, courage and strength are an inspiration to all. The 5th of December is Sri Aurobindo's Mahasamadhi and it is a fitting day as Shyama, the name given by the Mother, is one of Krishna's names. Read more

How Close Are We?

The Pavilion of French Culture shows, at regular intervals, video interviews with Aurovilians who knew the Mother. Screenings take place at Cinema Paradiso, Town Hall. As Rakhal explains, until today 25 interviews have been recorded, with more to be done. Rakhal and Francois Gautier are working on them, and, as Rakhal says, in general it is very touchy to record these testimonial reflections on the past and future development of Auroville. At the same time, the interviews are vivid documents of the growth that has happened.

Following are the minutes of the 2nd GM on a proposed New Selection Process for the Working Committee and the Auroville Council with a Participatory Working Group Proposal. Due to the rain, the meeting was not well attended. Still, what was exposed was that perhaps a new process will not make the dissatisfaction of the community disappear. It was mentioned, that even the best selection process possible would do nothing until we are ready to tackle the core issues that are burdening the community, causing much passivity and non-participation of its members. The New Being
On January 1, 1969, starting just after midnight, Mother felt an immense personality, something very material and luminous. It was very powerful but its character was a smiling benevolence, a peaceful joy and a blossoming in the joy and the light. It came directly into Mother's body and gave the feeling of something that had come to stay. Mother wondered if it was the personality which would later manifest in supramental forms of if it would manifest in the body of the intermediary being, the superman. After that , Mother's body no longer... Read more

The Universal Mother
Sri Aurobidno tells us that Mother's prayers in Her book "Prayers and Meditations" are mostly written in an identification with the earth-consciousness. The Mother in the lower nature addresses the Mother in the higher nature, the Mother herself carrying on the sadhana of the earth-consciousness for the transformation. These prayers are written in 1914. Half of century later, in Her Agenda, Mother tells of enfolding the earth and seeing a changed earth with a glorious inner light. Later She explains that Her body was built for the purpose.. Read more

The Future of the Soul
On July 1 1970, Rijuta, an American disciple, is in Mother's room. Mothers sees Rijuta's soul, her psychic being, and realizes that it is the psychic being which will eventually materialize into the supramental being. Mother describes this being and tell Satprem that the being she saw materialize in her room seemed to tell her, 'You are wondering what the supramental being will be. Here it is. This is it.' In the practice of Sri Aurobindo's Yoga, the first stage to be reached is to have our psychic being come to the forefront of our ... Read more

The Supramental Ship
On February 3, 1958, Mother's consciousness went to an intermediate zone between our world and the supramental world, where the link to connect the two worlds was being created. On February 19, 1958 she read out the written report of her experience to the Ashram, It was recorded, transcribed and published in the 1957-58 volume of Mother's 'Questions and Answers'. Mother's report details the penetration of the most material vibration of the supramental into the most material physical level of our world. She describes many things in detail. It Read more
