Suryan
Mostly friends and family members gathered last Saturday 16th of July at 'Purple' to spend an evening in the pleasant company of Suryan and his sweet voice. A still, warm summer night contributed to the soft mellow mood of Suryan and the Purple patrons as well. Songs, some old, some new, some redone, invoked feelings, emotions, sparks of vibrant energy which kept us all in place for almost two hours. And as we knew all along, Suryan proved once again that he's capable of performing a solo concert, creating a blissful atmosphere. Read more

The General Meeting on Tuesday 12th July at SAWCHU proved once again that there are few in comparison to the total population who care about what will happen in the decision-making process. These are our decisions to make Read more

The Force of Consciousness

We talked with Loretta, who is going to the USA in a week.  Following her line of service to the Mother, she is invited to lecture in California.  When you serve something, its vibration becomes part of you.  Serving Mother means receiving her consciousness.  Loretta received an inner push to lecture. This started with five talks on the Supramental Transformation connected with her recent exhibition.  Eight presentations in seven weeks will include four of these talks, a talk on Savitri, a question/answer session on Auroville, and a talk to children.  She will speak at the AUM Conference in Lodi, the California Institute of Integral Studies and the Cultural Integration Fellowship in San Fransisco, the East/West Cultural Center in Los Angeles, and Meditation Mount in Ojai. The Open Stage

From a delayed arrival of the African students a space of imagination emerged in which the audience extemporized a session of drumming and performance art. On the evening of March 28th in Unity Pavilion, we have captured the creativity of Nicolas, who did not only amuse the audience with his drumming skills but also with his reasoning of life translated into engaging narratives. Evenings are made special when people have the inventiveness to pencil a moment of joy by investing their talents and spirits to celebrate fellowship and harmony. This was a night of continuous interactive motions.

Evolving in the Living House

For this weeks update on the Transit Lounge, we accompanied potential users to a site visit of the Living House by architect Ajay. We have interviewed the architect, followed by feedback and comments from potential users on the construction and its features. The Living House, which is one of the new prototypes for the Transit Lounge/ Temporary Housing Project, is made from natural materials obtained from local villages/environment. Thus it comes with a low carbon footprint, while preserving local tradition and crafts. Ajay and his family have been living for more than 4 years in the house made from stone, mud, bamboo and a grass/ reed thatched roof, which should last 10-20 years. So far little to not maintenance was needed, as the long overhang protects most of the building from the strong monsoon rains. ... Read more
