French Dreaming

A Western Classical Music Recital with guest artists from Switzerland: Anna Adamik, piano and Martin Merker, cello. Compositions by Gabriel Faur, Claude Debussy, Nadia Boulanger and Csar Franck About the artists: Anna Adamik is a native of Budapest, Hungary. She studied at the famed Franz Liszt Conservatory under Annmaria Krause and Tams Fulep. She continued her studies at the Musikuniversitt in Vienna/Austria under Paul Badura Skoda and at the Musikhochschule Freiburg/Germany with Ramn Walter. Martin Merker was born in 1965 in Stuttgart/Germany. He studied Cello with Russian cellist Karine Georgian at the Musikhochschule Detmold in Germany, Reinhard Latzko and Ivan Monighetti at the Musikakademie Basel, Switzerland and with Llus Claret in Barcelona. He is a prizewinner of several international chamber music competitions.

Since 1997, Ms. Adamik is a Professor at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Austria.’ She has previously released three CDs containing works of Bach, Schubert and South American Music. In 2010 she will record Hungarian contemporary music for Hungaroton Budapest.
Currently, Martin Merker is the cellist of the Offenburg String Trio, a member of the Camerata Bern and Principal Cellist in the Aargau Symphony Orchestra. He recorded many CDs for ANTES, ambitus, Wolfbach and Centaur.
The concert was recorded in Pitanga – Auroville – on February 9, 2010.
