Site for recharging batteries of electric vehicles The news in English presents an excerpt of an interview with Chaman Lal who speaks of hydrogen cars. There are announcements concerning the Solar Kitchen site for recharging batteries of electric vehicles, an proposed Auroville gathering in Ethiopia, vegetable growing in raised beds and, a concert Saturday evening.
In Auroville the sky shows scattered clouds; the temperature range for Wednesday through Thursday night runs between 27 and 32 degrees; South-Easterly winds 14 to 21 kph.

Nina on Earth

NinaThe English magazine offers an interview with Nina, an ecologist who works at CSR. Nina is also one of the persons who organized Earth Day 2008,  scheduled  from the 16th to the 22th of April. Carbon neutral living is again the main theme of the day,
Nina talks about the origin of Earth Day in Auroville which began with Johnny and  was continued by Wim, Joss, Nikolai and Bridget.  This year one of the exhibitions organized at the Visitors' Center  is on sustainable living.

Earth Day celebration In this English news there's an interview with Jo who speaks about SaraCon as well as her own projects. And Earth Day is celebrated in Auroville tomorrow at Visitors' Centre with an inauguration of its environmental exhibit, programs throughout the day culminating with an evening concert.
The weather in Auroville today is hot, humid, with scattered clouds. Temperatures range between 27 and 33 degrees, winds are South-Westerly 14 kph.

Also an opportunity to learn and work with Blue Light,  news of a project for the elderly in Kottakarai Village,  an Ayurvedic tonic to stimulate the brain and a reminder that organic lunches continue to be available at Solitude.

Once again alive!

AurovilleRadio is once again alive and well!  A brief hiatus due to an invasive virus plus two of our team out of station for several days brought about interrupted service, but picking up again we begin with the weather: it's sunny, humid, with scattered clouds... temperatures between 26 and 31 degrees, South-Easterly winds around 18 kph.

Giovanni Fusetti For the English magazine, an interview with Giovanni Fusetti. He's the co-founder and  pedagogical director of KIKLOS International School of Theatre Creation in Padua, Italy. His pedagogy integrates physical theater with different practices of physical and emotional awareness.  He will give a workshop of four days duration in Auroville called 'Celebrating the Perfect Imperfection.' This workshop addresses every person wishing to experience a journey of self-discovery through the healing power of laughter. The workshop will be on April 12th ,13th, 14th & 15th, 9:30- 12:30 and 14:00 – 17:00 at  New Creation Studio (upstairs).

Ranganayaki This week's Tamil program we have a very special guest Ranganayaki who is from Kottakari village is giving us the essence of the village Music in Tamil Nadu. In villages where farming was the primary work, the ladies who work in the fields used to sing kulavai songs. Tamil music is sometimes categorised into Devotional, Classical and Popular Folk music. Rythms of popular folk music express a vitality which stems from the closeness of its contact with the life of the people.

Quien esta pasando unos dias con nosotros, conociendo la ciudad, con la intencion de desarrollar en Auroville un nuevo proyecto llamado Uni-diversidad. En marcha desde hace 5 años, en el que se desarrollan actividades y enseñanzas que ayudan a expandir la conciencia.

Solitude in UK

Krishna McKenzie Krishna McKenzie from the U.K. to Solitude as a choice of life and now from Solitude to the U.K. just to sing in a few festivals with his international band. Krishna has a small vegan restaurant in a community he founded in 1996 where you can eat all the product of the farm, but between planting a salad or picking eggplants Krishna compose and sings. Emergence will be playing a fundraising concert at Bharat Nivas on the 26th April.

Tamarai promote Tamil cultureUlli, who works at Thamarai, is featured in an interview. Thamarai is a cultural center, founded one and a half years ago by Aurovilians Kathy and Bridget. Its purpose is to create a bridge between the culture of the West and the culture of the village. This center is situated in Edayanchavadi; it proposes numerous activities including womens workshops, evening homework support for students and creative activities for children. Tamarai also organizes events to promote Tamil culture.
