Kick-off for Earth Day

The news today offers announcements about Earth Day, only a week away: not to be missed is another event from Johnny and the kids: an Earth Day Parade which will begin from the Youth Centre around 10 o’clock on Friday 22nd April, wending its way to Mahakali Park (between MM and Kalabhumi) where there will be a pot-luck picnic around midday. Tomorrow, Saturday’s Eco-Market at Solar Kitchen, will have extra attractions for the eco-minded both adults and children. And a guided tour is on offer, to discover newly color-coded trails on Auroville’s cycle trails, topped off with a 2011 film ‘Green Fire.’ Also tomorrow a farewell performance of ‘Third in Line’ by Magdalene San Millan, her one-woman show.

In a place like Auroville no one is supposed to be perfect from the start, but everyone is definitely supposed to aspire for a progressive perfection. To put it squarely, we are all here to change, with the help of the Divine Grace. This is what Conscious Evolution is all about. Granted, it is no easy task; but at least let’s not make it even more difficult by harbouring a fixed, negative image of one another. What a collective mess! Why not start to deliberately and insistently change the contents of our thoughts – of our expectations – from negative to positive? Then we will be actually helping each other to achieve the needed changes in our personality and behaviour! From working groups to individuals, everyone would benefit from breathing in this lighter, sunnier air, and perhaps we would find ourselves one fine day smiling again even to those we had stopped considering as friends? – Thanks to Bhaga –
