Ramayana
In a play based on the epic Ramayana, Ravana kidnaps Sita, the wife of Rama, and so Hanuman comes to help find Sita in Lanka, surrounded by the Ocean. The drama was shown in a different, shorter version for the audience to see’ the battle between Rama and Ravana. In the battle Indrajits, son of Ravanan, kills Lakshmana, brother of Rama, and other soldiers. During the war Hanuman goes to carry the mountain of Sanjivi, full of medicinal plants which will bring death back to life.
Symbolically treating the current social, cultural and political issues concerning Sri Lanka.
