Forum-Three Theatre Group Group from Banglore shared with Auroville audience last night at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium, Bharat Nivas, Pavilion of India, International Zone a musical play based on Bertolt Brechts Schweyk in the Second World War.
Excellent acting brought to us scenes from II. World War in Prauge where at local tavern Schweik and his friends are trying their best to survive and keep a healthy humor even in war times.

The Forum-Three Theatre Group operates out of Bangalore for the last 38 years, pushing the city’s theaterscape towards new boundaries in production values, content and inclusive community spirit. From Beckett to Badal Sircar, from Girish Karnad to Arun Mukherjee, they have been continuously widening their repertoire. The latest production is fashioned as a war musical based on “Schweyk in the Second World War” by Bertolt Brecht who has been immensely important in shaping contemporary theater across the globe.

Schweik in the Second World War (Schweyk im Zweiten Weltkrieg) is a play by German dramatist and poet Bertolt Brecht. It was written by Brecht in 1943 while in exile in California, and is a retelling of the 1923 novel “The Good Soldier Vejk” by Jaroslav Haek.
