SEDAB – Sustainable Development
The SEDAB project (Sustainable Enterprise Development in the Auroville Bioregion) is a collaborative initiative of several units in Auroville to work with villages toward sustainable livelihoods. The enterprises set up under SEDAB are diverse, from herbal medicine production to natural building, snake venom extraction, tailoring, and more – but what they have in common is care for the environment and the people living there. A {presentation} at Unity Pavilion led by Alain and Joss described the history, vision, and impact of the project.
The presentation included short films about three of the SEDAB projects: Wellpaper, snake venom extraction, and natural beauty care. We are encouraged to contact the SEDAB team with any ideas for further enterprises, especially for village women.
