Frequency of the week | ECHO
Our soul is constantly working for us. She shows us the way and wants to inspire us. Often we don’t listen, because the signals from the soul sometimes seem illogical. They don’t fit within the boundaries of our thinking. This is what you experience when you feel something is going to happen, but you are not sure exactly what.

At a subconscious level you pick something up, something that you cannot explain within your head. That ‘something’ feels like an echo. It’s the reflection of what your soul transmits to give you information about where you are right now. Echoes can repeat frequently or not; it all depends on where you want to go. That is why it’s important to give your soul the right information. Tune into exactly what you want, what makes you happy and which people or situations will help you further. Just like a radio station, your soul will transmit the exact signal to you at the right moment just before you reach your next station.

The frequency of Echo gives you insight into which energy you transmit and when it will echo back to you.

Affirmation of this week: Echoes from the soul give me insight to what I transmit and receive.

Auroville Architecture with CISS

Auroville architecture has been a source of inspiration for thousands of people, everyone visiting Auroville can only stare in astonishment and wonderment, how did they manage it?
Well today as a special orientation for the students visiting from California Institute of Integral Studies, Suhasini and Piero put together a marvelous presentation. It was an entire spectrum of architecture, Piero with his special insights on the early Auroville days and construction of Matrimandir and Suhasni with her sharing of the ideology and practice of her unit in creating architecture of Auroville that we see around us. Projects like, Matrimandir, Solar Kitchen, Visitor Center, Future School, Unity Pavilion were some of striking projects discussed in details by the two master architects.
This is a rare presentation, created by Piero with his collection of photographs which gives the real sense of the time when humanity as a whole embarked onto creating Matrimandir and eventually Auroville.

'Accessible Puducherry'- Workshop

Satya Special School organized a Workshop on “ACCESSIBLE PUDUCHERRY – A STEP TOWARDS AN INCLUSION” on 21st October 2016 at Convention cum Cultural Center, Pondicherry University (A Central Univeristy). Department of Social Work has taken a profound initiative by hosting the event.

India has an estimated 70 million disabled people. Most of them remain confined to their homes due to complete lack of accessible infrastructure. Any attempt to travel, enter buildings, parks, shops etc can be impossible, unsafe or humiliating. They, therefore remain unseen, unheard, unaccounted and are rightly called – an invisible minority.
Accessibility has been one of the most neglected issues in the disability sector in India and is probably one of the crucial factors that can free up the potential and availability of opportunities for disabled people.

The Disability Act (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) was passed by the Indian Parliament in 1995. The Act mandates non-discrimination in transportation and the built environment. However, there has not been much progress so far on these aspects, in India.

Access and Accessible refer to the freedom of choice to enter approach, communicate or make use of a situation or environment without assistance and undue difficulties.
Keeping the above, the following objectives were focused at the workshop:

1. Create awareness on accessibility among various stake-holders
2. Current status on accessibility in Puducherry
3. Road map towards an inclusive Puducherry

And the distinguished Speakers for Accessibility workshop are:

Dr. Chdambaram for the topic ‘Accessibility in Educational institutions – Pondicherry University’ ; Mr. Alkahj for ‘African Perspective on Accessibility – CIAI Pondicherry’ ; Mr. Sudhakar for ‘Accessibility Aids and its Importance – Mobility India’; Dr. Srinivas Murthy for ‘Accessibility for persons with mental disability’ ; Ms. Susmita for Accessible Auroville and Dr. Gulam for ‘Accessibility in Developed countries’ – Pondicherry university
