In all is the one Self, the one Divine is all; all are in the Divine, all are the Divine and there is nothing else in the universe, — this thought or this faith is the whole background until it becomes the whole substance of the consciousness of the worker.

A talk with Lisbeth and Ashwin

In the hustle of reaching to our destination we often forget to look around the path we are walking on. We just cross a lot of things without even noticing the beautiful depths they bear. And we do the same while going to Pondicherry from Auroville, we pass a small village called Muthialpet. Even the people traveling through this road daily don’t know that such a place even exist because they always try to run as fast as they could from there because of all the traffic but in this they forget to consider going inside the village and know it truely. Lisbeth and Ashwin decided to pay a visit to this village. Very impressively they captured the essence of this place in their photographs and exhibited them to let people know this place more closely and not judging it based on the outside traffic. They have showed Muthialpet in every light from dawn to dusk in their exhibition held in Pitanga.
To know more about the exhibition and the experience they had while shooting Muthialpet listen to the talk we had with the Photographers.

There is concealed behind individual love, obscured by its ignorant human figure, a mystery which the mind cannot seize, the mystery of the body of the Divine, the secret of a mystic form of the Infinite which we can approach only through the ecstasy of the heart and the passion of the pure and sublimated sense, and its attraction which is the call of the divine Flute-player, the mastering compulsion of the All- Beautiful can only be seized and seize us through an occult love and yearning which in the end makes one the Form and the Formless, and identifies Spirit and Matter. It is that which the spirit in Love is seeking here in the darkness of the Ignorance and it is that which it finds when individual human love is changed into the love of the Immanent Divine incarnate in the material universe.

Matrivandana

In the wake of the Centenary of The Mother’s first arrival in Pondicherry, The Ashram Music Group presented Matrivandana, a musical adoration of the Mother Goddess. On October 19, 2013, the group performed songs in Indian languages including Bengali and Oriya. It was a graceful evening filled with sublime devotional music. The divinity in the air was clearly perceivable as the Ashram Group singers let flow their love and adoration for The Mother Divine through their soulful rendition of the songs.

The Adoration of the Divine Mother wiII Bring into life’s closed room the Immortal’s air And fill the finite with the Infinite. All that denies must be torn out and slain And crushed the many longings for whose sake We lose the One for whom our lives were made. Now other claims had hushed in him their cry: Only he longed to draw her presence and power Into his heart and mind and breathing frame; Only he yearned to call for ever down Her healing touch of love and truth and joy Into the darkness of the suffering world. His soul was freed and given to her alone. – Sri Aurobindo

Jivatman sings about the simple joys of living in a beautiful place in English, Portuguese and French. Hear his intimate concert held in Pitanga last week. From one of Jivatman’s songs: “With the wind blowing, you keep always flowing. When the sun arrives, your joy is bright. And when night falls, darkening the skies, follow your guiding star that never dies.”

Hear its voice, follow its dictates.
