To be sincere, all the parts of the being must be united in their aspiration for the Divine – not that one part wants and others refuse or revolt. To be sincere in the aspiration – to want the Divine for the Divine’s sake, not for fame or name or prestige or power or any satisfaction of vanity.

From the point of view of a spiritual life, it is not what you do that matters most, but the way in which it is done and the consciousness you put into it. Remeber always the Divine and all you do will be an expression the Divine Presence. When all your actions are consecrate to the Divine, there will be no longer activities that are inferior, all will have an equal importance – the value given them by the consecration.

To want what the Divine wants, in all sincerity, is the essential condition for peace and joy in life. Almost all human miseries come from the fact that men are nearly always convinced that they know better than the Divine what they need and what life ought to give them. Most human beings want other human beings to conform to their expectations and circumstances to conform to their desires – therefore they suffer and are unhappy.

The Ugadi Festival

Ugadi or Tamil New Year signifies the beginning of a new year and a new day, the arrival of the spring, new life, new and fresh beginning, vibrancy, life, color, growth, well-being and prosperity. The most significant fact about the festival of Ugadi or Tamil New Year is the fact that the festival comes with a very important and relevant message for all to remember throughout their lives. All the experience that you have, good or bad must be treated with absolute equanimity. Whatever happens through out the year must be taken up calmly and faced gracefully. People should learn to rise above the happiness and sorrows, failure and success. For that occasion will be cultural program at 7.30 pm at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium, Bharat Nivas, Pavilion of Indian Culture with different classical Indian dances and devotional songs. Tomorrow at 5pm at Conference Room in Town Hall L’Avenir d’Auroville will present dis-mountable housing project.
