Film Festivals, Our Water,

Saturday, 22nd July, from 4 pm onwards at the Container Opposite PTDC Join them in celebrating abundance and generosity at Auroville Library of Things (ALoT). Bring a toy or more to share and find something new to play with this Saturday!Let us reach into our homes, closets and shelves for toys that are not being used to their full capacity.

RAS shares with the community that time has come for nominations-
Nominations for the New TDC (Selection process dates Oct 20, 21 & 22) This year, the community will also select an entirely new Town Development Council (l’Avenir d’Auroville). Please familiarise yourself with the new TDC structure and Terms of Reference (ToR).

Auroville Film Festival 2017 (December 16-23): To submit films into the 3 categories (by Aurovilians, about Auroville, by students of Auroville) please go to the same link given below. The deadline is July 31st. after you register your film please bring a copy or copies (if you are submitting more than 1) on a pen drive to our office in Sharnga – the AVFF team [Ph: 262 3187]

Alliance Francaise Pondichéry hosts the European Union Film Festival 2017 from 15 July until 03 August !22 Films from 22 different European Union Member States are screened in our Auditorium every other day (in original version with English subtitles)

WC Shares, Water Scarcity

The Working Committee informs that the next meeting of the Governing Board of the Auroville Foundation is scheduled for August 13 and 14.

The Working Committee share The former members of the International Advisory Council sent us the attached letter to all Aurovilians.

Water Groupn informs that we are in the worst Tamil Nadu Drought in 140 Years, Reservoirs 81% down. Auroville Water Table Falling at 50cm a month.

conserve water wherever you can! .

The Residents’ Assembly Decision-Making campaign has started.
– Voting ONLINE (use your personal link sent via RAS’ mass mail on Saturday, May 13); or
– ON PAPER (vote forms have been attached to last week’s News & Notes. Fill in the form, bring it to the RAS’ office – Monday-Friday from 10 am to 12 pm up to May 26). 

The Working Committee informs us on AADHAAR Camp in Auroville from 24 to 30 May at the Auroville Foundation building.

SUMMER PROGRAM AT KINDERGARTEN Auroville Kindergartens at Center Field are offering during four weeks a Summer Program of crafts, games, swimming pool and more to children age 4 to 7 (not for Jallam and Yellow groups) – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 12.00

The Auroville Library of Things (AloT) is now ready to serve the community – 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Location – Container opposite PTDC.

Mime Festival, Water Challenge#2

Featuring Drupad with invitation to a Wednesday at 6.30pm at SAWCHU Bahrat Nivas, Pavilion of India to a Metropol Masters Mime with Physical Poetry by Mime Troupe of Auroville – Drupad, Suganya, Raja, Kritika, Manushi. At the same time they will talk also on upcoming Mime festival in Novemeber and the Mime Insititute in Auroville.

Tuesday, September 15th, 4.30 to 6.30 pm at SAIIER Conference Hall The Joy of Learning team invites us to The Auroville Water Challenge – Part Two with Presenters:
Kireet – ’18 Years of Rain Water Harvesting and Erosion Control
Jan – ‘Approach to Sustainable Water Management in Auroville’
David – ‘H2O – Hydrological Challenge to Conscious Opportunity’

1st September at 5pm at Pitchandikulam we are invited to join them for a short presentation and discussion on the topic of What is the Global Ecovillage Network?

Korean Pavilion group invites us to Unity Pavilion, International Zone to a Korean dinner with Bibimbap, a representative Korean dish (it will be offered vegan), which many people call ‘a taste of unity’. Along with the dinner they will screen a short film about Korean culture followed by a special performance of the Korean Travelling school, which is currently visiting Auroville. After at 7.30pm at Sri Aurobindo Auditorium – Noerum Machi, The New Wave Korean Music Group.
Tomorrow at 5.30pm at Unity Pavilion in International Zone Kalahoj hosts a short evening of sharing art works produced by Karl Bird, a visiting guest artist (Norway) “New Routes New Roots” .
On 3rd of December also at Unity Pavilion a talk by Mrs Helene Larsson Pousette, visiting guest from Sweden Curator & ex-Cultural Counsellor of the Swedish Embassy in Serbia who interprets ideas on the notion of national identity explored in the cultural heritage’s objects.
