My Burning Heart – Satprem

On the 15th Janurary 2017 at Cripa, Francesca enacted a monologue from Satprem’s interview “7 days in India” titled “My Burning Heart”, which was directed by Moghan. It was such a great performance where everyone present appreciated the acting as much as the story.

Heidi Watts: Democratic Classroom

Heidi Watts taught in different settings in the United States for decades. Once she was the head teacher of a small alternative school in the US in which she intensively encouraged democractic decision making processes among her students.

In democratic schools students make decisions with varying importance and varying methods, depending on the setting and their experience. Group discussions sometimes include the use of talking sticks and exceed the classic majority rule by far. Limits for students’ decision were usually around topics of health and safety as well as academic issues.

African Cosmology and Our Roots

An interesting interview with Aunkh H. Chambalala, who visited us this morning to invite us to the first of his talks. The talk will be on African Astronomy and Cosmology, and was scheduled for today at the Unity Pavilion.
Aunkh gave us an insight in ancient African knowledge of astronomy, cosmology, and affairs of life. Amongst others we were talking about today’s youth, and his passionate involvement in education them.
