GM for SolarPower Plant by Varuna

“The solar light is the symbol of the supra-mental light ” – The Mother said

Varuna is shining bright like the sun, so to speak. A Genaral Meeting was organized by Varuna and TDC to discuss the revised site application for the Solar Plant, it has proposed for Auroville. The meeting was packed with people from Auroville, obviously demonstrating the magnitude of this project. The Solar Power Plant, which proposes to take care of the electrical needs of the entire community for 50,000 future inhabitants of Auroville, had come across a kind of road block regarding the location of the site it had been allocated earlier. The matter was pending and was needed to be addressed by the residents along with the groups involved. In the spirit of Auroville, where mutual respect is above personal ambition, the Varuna team, made ingenious amendments and by the end of their presentation, the general feeling was that they have found out a way to keep the balance in opinions and integrity of their project intact. Much kudos to Varuna for envisioning such a remarkable project along with the state of the art desalination plant and the uphill power storage project all of which are discussed in detail in the presentation. Very soon Varuna can expect list of recommendation for site application from TDC after which it will follow its general procedure and will be posted in the News&Notes for mandatory two weeks notice and if all goes well, finally commence work on this new land for the project. All we can say is, let the force be with you.

Lovers Rock 2

Lovers rock is a style of reggae music noted for its romantic sound and content. While love songs had been an important part of reggae since the late 1960s, the style was given a greater focus and a name in London in the mid-1970s.[1] Despite the name, lovers rock is not a rock subgenre or related to it.

Warning! Do Not Listen!!

Set in the imaginary City of Neotopia, the play tells a story of a government frustrated by their city’s lack of growth. In an attempt to identify the main obstacles to the city’s progress, a group of politicians invite in a team of foreign consultants to identify the problem.

After an exhaustive study, the consultants conclude that the main obstacle to the city’s growth is the citizens, recommending the introduction of a new kind of citizen – Citizen One. Free from the inconvenience of emotion and opinion, Citizen One promises to get things moving again, but things do not go as planned.

CAT-11 On education in Auroville

“Auroville is a place of never ending education ” – The Mother.
The students of Auroville, really stepped it up for not only other residents of Auroville but also for students all across the world. Auroville is a special place where there is respect and concern for each individual life participating in the all important ‘collective’. This was clearly demonstrated by the overwhelming number of people who attended the latest ‘CAT’s’ meeting on “What is education in Auroville? And how should it be”.
The 4 girls Aloé, Amara, Leela, Tara conducted a survey of students in all different schools of Auroville and presented their result to the community members. The idea of the presentation was to spark a brain-storming session amongst the participants of the meeting and come up with solutions towards the challenges and opportunities that this survey had surfaced from the lives of the children studying in Auroville. It was the most magnificent sight to watch parents and teachers listening keenly to their children and ready to be guided by them into their mutual future, by offering whatever resources they possess. It was a breakthrough in human evolution when we are ready to shape and understand education from a point of view of only giving without any prejudice of how the society will eventually be effected by freedom and choices we are giving to the children.
Hip Hip Hurray!
