Mother's Q and A – 29/8/56

How To Be Really Spontaneous

Mother defines spontaneity and goes into detail about how to be truly spontaneous. Then she explains how Sri Aurobindo wrote the Arya in a state of complete mental spontaneity. She says that to do yoga we must not be influenced by our own imaginations or desires, or we will end up having pre-imagined spiritual experiences instead of true ones. The practice of strict mental spontaneity is particularly necessary to follow a mental discipline.
The original French tape recording of Mother’s class will play after the English translation.

Hartmunt von Lieres piano concert

CRIPA  hall in Kalabhumi`s art centre lends itself perfectly to  improvisation on the grand piano. Mr. Hartmunt von Lieres filled the venue with colorful (over)tones still resonating in my ears.
A variety of musical scales got embellished with melodic patterns and rhythmical movements with a touch of Spanish flavor and a jazzy groove in order to create a harmonic structure. The music says it all. Just relax, listen and enjoy!

Celebration of Light at Deepam

On Saturday the 2nd of December at The Deepam school for children with special needs they lit more than a thousand oil lamps around the premises and gave a beautiful performance of songs, yoga and dance for the Karthigai Deepam celebration, which originates from the legend of Lord Shiva who had transformed himself into a divine flame.
Deepam means “light” – which is the name chosen for the school because they want to bring light into the lives of children who are disadvantaged.
