Audible Weed Walk – ep.35 “Weedy plants, linking to our tradition”
As we evolved in our society, even after farming evolved – we still depended food that came from the wild. Wild weedy greens were always the closest to us, nourishing, healing and plentiful. Then perhaps at some point as our farm sizes grew, fewer people and more machines were needed, people could leave for other jobs. May be after a while it was not important to notice the new shoot that has sprung up in the yard… This is when tradition got synonymous to “old”. The tradition we want to revive is that to be aware, to be present, to rejuvenate.
