Audible Weed Walk – ep.40 “Let’s start fortyfying ourselves”

Recently we learnt that supplements like Vitamins, probiotic, zinc etc. only marginally work in preventing Covid-19 infection and even that only works with women. My personal conclusion – take supplements if it makes you feel good but let’s get to the good food first. Whole food, unprocessed food, food simply cooked, fortified with good species – some of which are wild and weedy plants. Any Ayurved will give you several other options for natural supplements such as Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera ), Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa), Giloy or Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and many more. All these plants are wild, uncultivated, and weedy plants growing around you – waiting to be found. This week I will highlight one weedy plant that is currently in season that you can incorporate in your diet. It is Bhringraj or Karsalankannai (False Daisy – Eclipta prostrata).
