Audible weed Walk- Ep.72 “Mega meal from the Weedy Nation: reaching beyond the rationale”
On Thursday 24 February 2022, as part of the special birthday week celebration (from 21st to 28th culminating in Auroville’s birthday), organized by our mega community eatery, Solar Kitchen, I along with a group of wonderful supporters had offered dinner prepared with edible wild weedy plants. There are plenty of rationale to learn about edible weeds, such as climate resilience. But reasons alone can fall short unless we can have a heart-connect. The emotional connection through senses – aesthetics, art, taste, aroma etc. often guides our decisions and opens for new possibilities. With that hope I, along with my wonderful team – worked along with the solar kitchen team to offer a wild weedy dinner to 120+ people. For many this was their first experience of eating the wild weedy food. All other days of the week food from different regions and nations were offered except us. So, thought, why not call ourselves Weedy Nation?
