Bhu Earth – Dance,Theatre and Kalaripayattu Show

Bhoomi, Mother Earth in Sanskrit known for the celebration of nature and the older element inspired by the oldest marshal art called ‘Khalipalattu’ from Kehala was held here in Auroville on Wednesday.

The art director, Philippe Pelen Baldini says that they have developed Khali in a contemporary way through dance and live music performing for the first time in an auditorium in Sri Aurobindo Auditorium. The theater talks about a story of a man who is full of anger who meets the master of Khalahi. The man thinks that the master will teach him how to be a good fighter but the master teaches him to reconnect himself and his ‘Nature‘ (Mother Earth).

The story talks much about meditation through dance and music produced by Khaliam mastered by Laxmanji Gurukal. Pelen talks about the inspiration behind the ancient Khalipalattu wisdom and also the integral yoga which is a part of Sri Aurobindo and ‘The Mother’ which bridges the gap between the ancient and the contemporary form of yoga and meditation.
