Music: Interview to Rita Dias
On August 26th we had Rita Dias in the studio telling us about her past and future productions and her discovery of Auroville. During the interview you can listen to some songs recorded in Portugal and a song composed specifically for Auroville
Rita Dias is a singer and a composer. She was born in Coimbra, Portugal, but she has also lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio was the place where she felt that the music needs to be in her life in a professional way, not just as a hobby. The brazilian culture, all the poets, writers and musicians and the cariocas way of life showed her that, if we wish, we can do it.
So, Rita Dias followed her dream. Until now she recorded one album “Com os pés na terra” in 2013; one EP for children “Gosto de ti, assim!” and two singles “Se Bem Me Lembro” in 2016 and “Com gosto amigo” in 2018. All the lyrics are in Portuguese, the language that she loves. By the end of 2019 Rita will start recording her second album.
In order to be able to record new songs, to talk about themes and subjects that are different from her first album, Rita Dias needed to find her true path involving herself in a spiritual trip. She needed to dive into her soul and into deep experiencies. For this she has chosen India, because she feels that this is a kingdom of old wisdom. The last city of her trip is Auroville and she is absolutely amazed by all the symbolic meanings and the foundational values of this piece of land. “Auroville is a real dream”, she says.
