Natyanjali performances at Tantrosav 2018
The evening on the 10th of Feburary began with tunes of Cithare as the Baul Singers from West Bengal entertained the audience with their live music. And with music gives way to dance, a trio of dancers immense the audience at the Kalarigram in a mythological universe as they perform the very heart of traditional dances from Kerala.
Perfoming the new dance style, Kerala Natanam, the Natyanjali artists from Trivandrum, Kerala introduced the new style to the audience while it was followed by Riddhi Raj’s presentation of Bharatanatyam with her facial expression and elegance in her movements inspired by the great Malayalam poet, Edasseri Govindan Nair.
Then after this, it was Sri Riddhi Raj who takes the stage and leads us in a contemporary dance of Kerala. Her eyes accompany her gestures. Then a group of 5 people take the place. Their bodies move like puppets. An impressive theatrical performance. An evening where performances joined the traditions.
