Sangamam Celebration(7) – Dances in the Evening
The main event of the 2018 Sangamam festival in Auroville was hands down the dances. Adolescent acrobats leapt off stage to make room for Hip-Hop heavy highschoolers breakbeating around prepubescent praise dancers cheering before human pyramids compiled of a graceful bastion of interlocking young yogis. It was a sight to see as the traditional effortlessly melted into the modern and esoteric. In the true spirit of unity and cross-culture cooperation, this year’s Sangamam festival had something to offer everyone.
