Savitri – the Way of Love
The first Dr. M.V. Nadkarni Memorial Lecture was held at Savitri Bhavan on March 7, 2010. Dr. Mangesh V. Nadkarni (1933-2007) was a distinguished Aurobindonian scholar and an inspiring speaker, especially on Sri Aurobindo’s epic Savitri. In his memory an annual lecture series has been initiated at Savitri Bhavan. The speaker on the first of these occasions was Narad (Richard Eggenberger) whose association with Dr. Nadkarni and his family dates back to the early 1960s. Narad, singer and gardener, has also been a reader and lover of Savitri for the past 50 years. He spoke on “Savitri – the Way of Love”, exploring many beautiful passages on Love occurring throughout the poem.
