Synthesis of Yoga

The Synthesis of Yoga is the principal work of Sri Aurobindo explaining his method of Integral Yoga. In this volume he renders its essence comprehensible and illuminating.

This reading is the final portion of Chapter 23 The Supramental Instruments-Thought- Process, bottom of page 856.

With supramental knowledge there is always a feeling of basic oneness with the thing known. … things of which we are one in the being, consciousness, and capable of knowing them (even as we know ourselves) by the force of that oneness. … The bridge of connection is not always sensibly felt at the moment but it is always there; as we grow in supramentality, it becomes an abiding factor. … The simple will to know may bring to the supramental consciousness the needed knowledge.

On a certain level all knowledge presents itself as a remembering because all is latent in the self of the supermind. … All thought in the supermind is intuitive, inspired, a revelation; all deficiency of knowledge, error is prevented by luminous discrimination; the movement is always from knowledge to knowledge. … It is only when mentality is overpassed, drops into a passive silence, will there be the integral action the supramental gnosis.
