Synthesis of Yoga

The Synthesis of Yoga is the principal work of Sri Aurobindo; in it he explains thoroughly, in detail, his method of Integral Yoga.

This recording is the final portion of Chapter 19 The Nature of the Supermind, of Part 4 The Yoga of Self-Perfection, bottom of page 792-798.

Spirit is everywhere, even in matter; the supermind is the universal power of the spirit’s omnipresent self-knowledge and it is That which organises matter, life, mind and reason. The truth belongs to a greater principle than our intellgence: the supramental … knowledge born of a fundamental identity: the spirit’s constant self-perception.

Reason’s function is to impose partial knowledge and order upon one’s life but a real, final and integral order can only be founded by the supermind, present most strongly as intuition. An increasingly intuitive mind has the best chance of discovering the desired perfection of self-expression.

It is God-realization and God-expression which is the object of the IntegralYoga, especially a divine self-expression in us.
