Highest Health Through Nutrician

On the 4th of December 2017 in the reading room, at Savitri Bhavan, Dr Nandita Shah shared some of her deep knowledge on the subject of diet and nutrition and the link to many of the diseases such as cancer and diabetes which have severely increased in the last 50 years. She then gives many simple and logical explanations and reasons why we should change the food we eat to be simply more in tune with our instinctual and natural diet, in the same way that all animals instinctively know their natural food, to help alleviate some of these deadly diseases.
Let us all revert back to an organic plant based diet, let Auroville be a place and example to the world for the health and spiritual benefits of this simple shift.

Dr Nandita Shah has just had her new book “Reversing Diabetes in 21 Days” launched in India and published by Penguin Books. It’s available on Amazon and will soon be available at the Visitors Centre book shop too.
Her website address is www.sharan-India.org

Marc's Coffees

The Growing Culture Of Coffee In India

India is the sixth largest coffee producer in the world, and although the vast majority of Indians still prefer to start their day with tea, the trend of coffee consumption is changing in India. More and more European style cafés and eateries, where friends can gather and socialize over a cup of coffee, are now popping up all over urban India.
This café trend has introduced in India a variety of espresso, cappuccino, latte and more to people who had far fewer options before. Coffee drinkers now start to develop a palate for quality coffee and crave for more variety.

In the past, because coffee was seen as an export crop only, high-quality Indian beans were sold to European companies who would process them and blend them with other beans. Retailers would then import such products to sell to their own customers. Today entrepreneurs like Marc’s Coffees are starting to change all of that.
A number of cafés today are popping up in cities all over India, buying and roasting Indian coffees especially for the domestic market.

India still exports almost 80 percent of the beans it produces, but in the past ten years, the consumption of coffee in India has increased by 40%.
For farmers, this recent domestic demand for coffee is giving hope of expansion and increased profit.

Consciousness is a reality inherent in existence. It is there even when it is not active on the surface, but silent and immobile; it is there even when it is invisible on the surface, not reacting on outward things or sensible to them, but withdrawn and either active or inactive within; it is there even when it seems to us to be quite absent and the being to our view unconscious and inanimate.

« Comment passer l’été avec les recommandations de l’Ayurveda »
Conférence de Bérengère (docteur en Ayurveda)

Quand les températures augmentent, il y a davantage de Dosha Pitta dans l’air (élément = feu).
Durant les grandes chaleurs nous avons de la peine à travailler et n’avons également pas beaucoup d’appétit.
Accepter les tendances naturelles, adapter son alimentation et ses activités sont en outre les recommandations pour rester «cool» pendant tout l’été.
