Teaching trough heart
Education is a learning process. In many traditional education models, children are forced to learn solely by repetition and test taking. An atmosphere of pressure prevails at the same time with pressure on both the students and teachers to perform. In other systems, however, the emphasis is placed on what’s happening inside of the children, teaching them how to connect to their heart and spirit. Children are encouraged to access their own inner voice and communicate from that deep place. Chris, an American teacher, who has taught in different schools in various countries around the world, discusses in the interview some of her experiences teaching with both traditional and alternative methods in oder to find a balance between them in the name of a child.
