The Bridge Day 6, lunch at Solitude: Guided farm tour with Krishna

On our last day, following informal exploration of possible collaborative projects between Aurovilians and visiting researchers in the morning, we went to Solitude Farm for lunch. There Krishna took us on a walk through the fields and shared his vision of a sustainable future.

“Auroville wants to be the bridge between the past and the future. Taking advantage of all discoveries from without and from within, Auroville will boldly spring towards future realizations Auroville Charter

After the morning of the sixth day of The Bridge, which the visiting researchers and Aurovilians spent in numerous informal open spaces to work on joint collaborative projects, we went to Solitude Farm for lunch. Our meal was followed by a spontaneous educational walk through Solitude’s fields with Krishna which you can listen in on through the recording in this post.

Krishna shares with us the many uses of the different plants that are cultivated on the farm and how they can contribute to a healthy and more sustainable lifestyle. He further provides his perspective on the current local as well as global challenges to environmental sustainability and ways to approach them constructively. For example, Krishna suggests that everybody could start with little changes, like getting in the habit of eating healthy organic local food for a meal each day. Join us on this informative and passionate guided tour of Solitude Farm!
