Errata and Retraction of Ma Annapurna Devi’s Malkauns

In response to the Aarohan episode 14: “The Matriarchs of Maihar”, we have received direct feedback from one of Maa Annapurna devi’s senior disciples that the Malkauns recording is wrongly ascribed to her. He mentioned that Maa herself had heard this recording a few years ago and disowned it. We had previously received other feedback that the recorded instrument sounds more like a sitar than a surbahar.
In the light of this evidence, we respectfully retract the claim that this is Maa’s recording and apologize for any inconvenience caused by the inadvertent misrepresentation.
