Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya inaugrates new paver road Auroville Visitors Centre
Auroville: Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, the Chairman and Managing Director of Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. (NLC), on Saturday (February 10th) inaugurated the new paver block road here in Auroville.
The new paver block road from Edayanchavadi Tar Road to the Visitors Centre, including the plaza/parking area in front of the Visitors Centre was officially inaugurated in the presence of other directors and officials from Neyveli and representatives of the Auroville Foundation, Working Committee and L’Avenir d’Auroville.
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility budget, Neyveli Lignite Corporation has donated Rs 1.1 crore for the development of road and parking spaces.
As a tradition, an inauguration pooja took place wherein the officials blessed the spot.
After, Dr. Acharya gave an answer to a curious local journalists whereby he said that there was a proposal from the Former Chief Secretary of Puducherry to explore the possibility of introducing Indias first solar pathway which is still in a planning stage and said that there are in talks with few foreign teams to implement the plan. .
The event was followed with opening remarks of Carel, secretary Srinivasamurthy of Auroville Foundation, Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, Nicole and other representatives of Neyveli Lignite Corporation India.
Dr. Sarat said that this was an occasion of satisfaction that we could do something for the betterment of society, and added that the wealth made through these industrial activities will be for the development of the societies.
Dr. Sarat in his address said that he was proud to be a part of the Auroville Community and added that the inspiration driving to promote peace and humanity inspired him the most and also attracted people from all over the globe. He also said that he looks forward to contribute as much as possible in the coming days for the development of the society.
