Resonance by Michel Nicolet
The exhibition Resonance by Michel Nicolet is open for other four Sundays at Petite Ferme, Auroville. The sculptor Michel Nicolet is showing us a remarkable set of objects. One could say that his presentation consists of three parts: his words, his drawings and his sculpture. The drawings, being two dimensional, appear to be a study towards a special kind of three dimensionality. In the interview (in French) Michel tells us about his life paths and connections, which draw him to Auroville and, through cymatics, to this exhibition.
In it, after reading the words thoroughly it becomes increasingly apparent: the plans are presented on the walls of the gallery and the result is shining in the middle. The aim is not to discover the unknown, but to realize the known. What is here is elsewhere and what is not here is nowhere. Petite Ferme with Art on Sunday is not just an art gallery; it is a place where Aurovilians and guests, artists and art lovers, can meet, see art and talk about art. It is its intention to regularly bring new exhibitions of contemporary art by the many artists among Auroville’s citizens, as well as promoting these artists abroad. It also hopes to be a meeting place for all those who regards ‘art’ as an important ingredient of life. – http://www.artonsunday.com/
