Auroville is approaching a landmark date, 50 years of existence. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate our unity and resilience but is an even bigger chance for us to go into an introspection of where we are and what should be our route map for the future.
A group of Aurovillians have taken up the challenge to address core issues in Auroville, in areas regarding Human resource, services, commercial units, farms & forest, education, fixed assets and self governance.
The core team comprising of Pashi, Umberto, Luigi, Joseba and Giacomo with a support group of Anandi, Mita, Srimoyi, Rita, Paulette, Jaya, Romel and Mimansha.
Listen to the meeting as Pashi and group explore deeply into the Mother’s actual original plan with facts and figures for developing Auroville – A city the earth needs.
The group identifies itself as ‘exploring prosperity’ and can be contacted at exploringprosperity@auroville.org.in . this is an open group and is open to all ideas related to steering Auroville onto a sturdy path progress and collective prosperity.
CAT-10 Creating greener Auroville
CAT10- was organized on Mother’s birthday to reflect on the ‘Joy of building a green universal township: Auroville’.
Luigi and team had created this presentation based on the vision of the Mother of an eco-friendly city the Earth needs.
It was a very harmonious presentation and was explained in much detail to inspire deeper insights.
An innovative presentation style, with 4 panelist from various fields and having pioneering experience in Auroville, to discuss and comment on the presentation content as it moved along from topic to topic. Due to late start, the presentation was cut short but the passion and enthusiasm with which Luigi and panelists presented was abundant. There were many aspects to take away from this presentation, like the suggestion to ‘remove the internal fences between communities to concretely foster human unity ‘ or to increase the use of creepers in a maximum effect manner or use applied research in making internal spaces, external facades and terraces more energy efficient in order to develop greener landscapes including vegetables cultivation.
The entire evening and the audience response was very pleasant, ideal to discuss Mother’s vision in action.
Thank you Luigi, the panelists, the participants and the ‘CAT’s’ to co-create this safe space of reflection on what holds Auroville to the past and what opens to the future.
‘What is Health?’
Centre for International Research for Human Unity (CIRHU) started ‘Aurovilian Conversations’. a series of weekly reflections (not formal debates or lectures) on various subjects of human and societal growth and development.
The conversation held on 6 Sep (thursday) 2016 at CIRHU, TownHall of Auroville on ‘What is Health?’ is an interesting and enthusiastic subject discussed by students, interns, new comers and people of Auroville.
Linda Grace, from Sante (Intergral Health Services of Auroville) has chaired the discussion and she spoke on the importance of ‘health and consciousness in todays’s world. She emphasized mainly on the self-interest and self-reliance of an individual to keep up once health and therefore look for sustainable and divine living.
The three pillars which shape the well-being of an individual and tune into a healthy life are described by Linda Grace. They are, Mental Health, Social Wellness and Private/personal time for oneself.
Members of CIRHU: Giacomo, Luigi and other visitors and students have participated in the discussion.
B and Luigi Part 6, AVI excerpts
Will Auroville see a greener tomorrow? Today’s news provides a preview to the sixth meeting of B and Luigi, discussing Auroville as a green city. The news also includes excerpts from the recent International Advisory Council meeting. Tune in to hear music from Sunday night’s concert of Classical Spanish guitar, played by Ashaman, which will be available for download on the radio website later this week, as will B and Luigi’s dialogue in its entirety.
44th and Happy Parking
Happy 44th Birhtday Auroville! In today’s news we feature short excerpts of interview with Daniel on anniversary, and one with Luigi from L’Avenir d”Auroville about extensions of parking space at the Town Hall, which is one of the steps to manifest pollution free urban space in Auroville. On Saturday 3rd of March at 5pm at Savitri Bhavan Georges Van Vrekhem will start his March Saturdays series of talks with – True philosophy: the philosopher and the yogi . On Sunday Anandi will share with us “tango y dulce de leche” at Unity Pavilion.
