The meeting of man and God must always mean a penetration and entry of the Divine into the human and a self immergence of man in the Divinity.
But that immergence is not in the nature of an annihilation. Extinction is not the fulfilment of all this search and passion, suffering and rapture. The game would never have been begun if that were to be its ending.

Fear is an impurity, one of the greatest impurities, one of those which come most directly from the anti-divine forces which want to destroy the divine action on earth; and the first duty of those who really want to do yoga is to eliminate from their consciousness, with all the might, all the sincerity, all the endurance of which they are capable, even the shadow of a fear. To walk on the path, one must be dauntless, and never indulge in that petty, small, feeble, nasty shrinking back upon oneself, which is fear.
An indomitable courage, a perfect sincerity and a
sincere self-giving, so that one does not calculate or bargain, does not give with the idea of receiving, does not trust with the idea of being protected, does not have a faith which asks for proofs – it is this that is indispensable in order to walk on the path, and it is this alone which can truly shelter you from all danger.

Pongal Festival marks the end of cold winter months and the advent of spring; is celebrated when the fields are blooming. The festival is thus a celebration of prosperity and good harvest especially for the farming community. During the Pongal celebrations farmers express their gratitude to Sun God and the cattle and thank them for a good harvest. There are many Yogas, many spiritual disciplines, paths towards liberation and perfection, Godward ways of the spirit. Each has its separate aim, its peculiar approach to the One Reality, its separate method, its helpful philosophy and its practice. The integral Yoga takes up all of them in their essence and tries to arrive at a unification (in essence, not in detail) of all these aims, methods, approaches; it stands for an all-embracing philosophy and practice.

Thanks giving us Pongal

For the first time, Auroville celebrated the Pongal Thanksgiving Festival traditionally. Pongal was celebrated at Friday in front of the solar kitchen. As it was organized by Tamil people and some Auroville units, the city got an authentic glimpse of Indias most important festival. A Soundcollage with Soundscape, music and interviews.

Unvironments 2: Windmill

The Unstitute (UK artists Marianna and Daniel O’Reilly) returns with another weekly session of sonic meditation environments, influenced by local Aurovilian vibrations, and tweaked at the secret jungle studio retreat of The Unstitute. The derive begins at Fertile Windmill, travels through the wastes of abstract tonality, tinged by the bells of the Pongal cow.

New Food Link, Second Pongal

In the week before at the 15th of January the biggest Indian Festival of Pongal takes place, Auroville Farm Group organized their Pongal Farm Festival. They offered two days with presentations of the organic farm work in Auroville, gratis food (including, what else, Pongal rice), live music, information desks and food associated plays for children. A Documentation of the second day.
