The Promise of Consciousness
Sri Aurobindo begins his epic poem, Savitri, with the beginning of everybody’s day, the coming of the light of dawn and the rising of the sun.to begin a new day on earth. The full title of the book is “Savitri, a Legend and a Symbol”. The story of Savitri is an ancient Vedic legend which is re-told in the great Mahabharata. Sri Aurobindo uses it to symbolize the dawning of new consciousness in humanity. “All can be done if the God-touch is there.”
