Savitri Remembers
Savitri awakens as the beautiful light and atmosphere of dawn fade, and the rising sun brings the common light of earthly day.
Savitri is a mighty, Immortal being in a frail human form. To live with grief, to confront death on her road, the mortal’s lot in the mortal form became the Immortal’s share. The long foreknown and fatal morn was here. As Savitri’s consciousness emerged from sleep, the memory of the great task which she came to accomplish returned to her. To the lone Immortal’s unshared work she rose. Immobile in herself she gathered force. This was the day when Satyavan must die.
