Synthesis of Yoga

The Synthesis of Yoga is the principal work of Sri Aurobindo explaining his method of Integral Yoga. In this volume he renders its essence comprehensible and illuminating.

This reading is the final portion of Chapter 24, The Supramental Sense, page 877.

The most direct spiritual use of the psychic consciousness is to make it an instrument of contact, communication and union with the Divine. The supramental transformation changes the whole substance of our consciousness, bringing in an ether of greater being, consciousness, sense and life (which reveals the psychical as insufficient, an incomplete reality, only a partial truth of that which we are… ).

Our state of being, after the supramental transformation, will use as its means and instruments a spiritual vision of all that knowledge by identity can found … thought vision, thought hearing, thought memory realising the truth of all things, and an inner truth speech expressing it … in fact a supramental sense providing a relation with all things, persons, powers and forces in all planes of existence.
