Synthesis of Yoga

The Synthesis of Yoga is the principal work of Sri Aurobindo explaining his method of Integral Yoga. In this volume he renders its essence comprehensible and illuminating.

This reading is the first portion of Chapter 25,Towards the Supramental Time Vision, page 885.

The consciousness of the timeless Infinite is most ordinarily imposed upon our mentality by a reflection of it, a powerful impression made present to us as something above the mind towards which it lifts but, cannot enter, because itself lives only in the time sense, in the succession of the moments. … the first condition of our consciousness (in which we now move) is this mind of ignorance … arisen out of the inconscience and nescience of material Nature … seeking for knowledge … and finding clues to the true truth … opening to the capacity of true knowledge. … in the process mind seeks for its source of knowledge within rather than without … conscious that the knowledge of all things is hidden within … secretly there … remembered … known at once to be true … each thing in its own place, degree, manner and measure. … The true mind is the universal within us; the individual is only a projection on the surface.
