Synthesis of Yoga

Sri Aurobindo gives us the Synthesis of Yoga as a wonderfully detailed and thorough explanation of his system of Integral Yoga and at the same time examines traditional yogas and religions. This reading continues with Part 3TheYoga of Divine Love, Chapter 7 The Ananda Brahman, page 593.

“The Divine reveals himself in the world around us when we look upon that with a spiritual desire of delight that seeks him in all things.

“The way of devotion in the Integral Yoga will take the form of a seeking after the Divine through love and delight, a perfect enjoyment of the soul’s intimacy with God. It may start from knowledge or works, but it will turn knowledge into a luminous union with the Beloved, and works into a joy of the active union of our being with the will, power of the Beloved. Or it may start directly from love and delight; taking both these other things into itself, develop them as part of the complete joy of oneness.
