Synthesis of Yoga

The book Synthesis of Yoga is Sri Aurobindo’s principle work on his method of Integral Yoga; he offers a complete, detailed explanation, beginning to end.

This reading continues in part 4 Yoga of Self-Perfection, the first half of Chapter 18 Faith and Shakti, pages 771-776.

” … soul faith is indispensable to the action of the being … without it man cannot move a single pace in life, much less take any step forward … whatever he has the faith to see as possible in himself and strive for, that he can create and become. … faith demanded as indispensable … faith in God … faith in the presence and power of the Divine in us and in the world … the Integral Yoga aims at a a knowing, a gnosis which will apply itself to and cover all life … faith is a needed assent of the soul … without which there can be no progress. … the Divine holds our hand through all … if he seems to let us fall, it is only to raise us higher.

A great, wide, intelligent faith, including the intelligence of the larger reason, that assents to high possibilities, is needed for the Integral Yoga.
